iPhone 12 OLED Screen Issue

Apple just shipped two brand new Iphone 12 PM to me hat i've ordered , i will get both via DHL monday...

For the one i already have i have asked for a return today.

I know there is a possibility to know you Machine serial number before you got it from apple , but i dunno where to look, i've looked to the shipping confirmation , tracking....

can someone help me or have any info ? it will be useful to see what production week , factory and display brand they are.

My phone display is flickering and getting dim slowly and i even got a green screen during restart, except apple log everything else is green.

I have sent it to apple service and they returned it first time saying they didn't find any issue and again i showed them the issue and returned it for replacement, now again they are returning it saying they updated the software.

Not sure what to do and no one is responding.

My phone has this for instance , if I am in a dark room on a FaceTime call that’s dark the screen flickers a gray like pixalized all over the screen and gets bigger then smaller . I did an express replacement but the new phone is having the same issue . Is this normal ? iPhone 12 Pro Max

Perhaps YouTube, I tested it on my gf's iPhone X and it did not happen, as far as I know the X has an oled as well, correct me if I'm wrong. Furthermore in regards to my earlier post, it doesn't matter what % brightness I'm using, with or without true tone/ auto brightness/ night shift etc

So i got the bills for the 2 iPhone 12 pro max i've ordered , one on the 25th of december and one a few days ago , the funny thing is that Both starts with the same serial number F2 like the one i have who just have a yellow tint and the grey flicker on pitch black room.

i tried to enter the serial numbers on the netherlands website it says they have been both produced week 51...

so not sure if the problem is resolved...

i'll see tomorrow i'll have both in hands.

It will be interesting to know. In the past F2 has had this issue but not from the production week you mentioned so let’s hope for the best. Good luck!! Because this is what we all are hoping for : LUCK!

That’s really interesting, what is your location? To know which apple store it must be as the distributors in Europe where i am based are mostly from C7 or FD or F4 or things like this. FF when I try to find the factory in the Netherlands site, the factory is unknown somehow.

So guys i just watched zollotech and apparently a new update is supposed to drop on Tuesday and he thinks apple may fix the isuue. Lets all hope this is the case and we can finally end this long thread of messages and sleep in peace.

So what would you suggest? Seriously I’m fed up of wasting time as at the local authorised Apple retailer I go to isn’t a proper Apple Store, so the replacement process takes up to 5-6 days.

I can only try once more when I’m 100% sure that the replacement unit won’t be a faulty one.

So do you think we have 0% chance of solving the issue with a software update?

As I said, when I first used the phone after the replacement, the screen was heaps and bounds better with no green tint, then it progressively got worse over the week.

the first one looks better to me but i wonder something, what is the app or video with the clock you are using to see this green tint ?

cos i do not have any green tinit like this on the 3 iphone 1é pro max i've had..

and if someone knows the name of the windows program to know the display manufacturer of the iphone by hooking it up , i would love to know to try it on the 3 iphones i have to give you info..

all i can say for sure is that of the 3 iphones i got which all start with the F2 serial number , nonce of them have this weird green glow.. yes oled doesn't turn 100% off in pitch black but it's more a light gray sort of LCD display aura that appears on the screen , specially on the first + it's ugly yellow tint

the 2 new ones i just got are near perfect i've just noticed that i can reproduce the issue but only when brightness is at 0% , at 1% to 100% on a black picture or video in HDR no issues at all ...

how do you guys know the display model number and manufacturer ? i thought it was thanks to a windows program, but i dunno it's name , does someone know it ? please ?

I've tried the OLEDX app but most feature are paid ones... lol

I use the app „AtomUhr“ as a night-clock, because it‘s really dark on (good) OLED panels.

I‘m now in contact with Apple to keep the 3. iPhone 12 Pro with the homogeneous panel (no green stripe).

I hope the rest (raised black) will be fixed by iOS 14.4 or latest 14.5!

Apple will never publicly acknowledge this issue. That would create a story that would be picked up by tech blogs and then snowball into another antenna gate. And if it is hardware, which seems likely, can you imagine if they had to recall every single iPhone 12 Pro. It would be a disaster for an issue that basically no one notices or even understands. I’ve seen people reference their lcd phones as having true blacks. We are a minority.
