iPhone 12 OLED Screen Issue

Hello. I bought two iPhone 12 and both has the same issue. In dark surrounding on any brightness lower than 90-100% screen has this ugly glowing! Black pixels are not turning off in dynamic scenes. In static scene black pixels turning off after few seconds.

My video shows it in video and in clock app.

And this is comparison by another one person who have this problem but with iPhone 12 Pro. iPhone 12 Pro vs iPhone XS screen.

That’s not normal at all. I post it to support and they said I should wait more. That’s just great...

SO after getting two brand new iphone 12 pro max, after ordering Like 9 models , i can confirm all fot this weird LCD like screen in pitch black room on a blakc wallappaer in full screen in photos apps ( to reproduce the issue easily ) or even by jut booting each phones out of the box in my bathroom with no lights on , ( you see this grey flicker...

I got 2 12 pro max today starting with F2 week 51 of production, like most of the ones i got , it's way better than the last one i got starting with G0... the issue is still present but barely visible specialy on one model + no yellow tint...

So i send pics to apple, and they confirmed to me THAT THEY DO NOT READ THESE FORUMS... AT ALL...

if u cant this minor issue ( in their opinion and i agree ) to be fixed , you need to call them and spend 30 min or 1 hour max with tech support and explain them all of this.. issue is software cos it never happen with brigthness at 100% and when the phone boot at first, the screen is perfect , you see the apple logo and then the grey flicker comes for a few seconds, it means that so cores components that initialize when booting up like all the sensor in the notch must be causing a little software bug that most ppl do not see.

they do have enough reports of this specific issue.. if all the people here were to call them maybe they'll will really look into the issue.. i've send pictures to them, spent some time with them, and it's the only solution for a fix to be coming ASAP.

hope most of you will calll them . otherwise they may fix it when 13 is released..

I really wonder if Steve Jobs never passed away. The products that were released during his time as CEO are almost perfect and much affordable than what it is now. He addresses every problems and setup press conference to answer each problem with good reasons why. Ever since iPhone 6, everything gets messy and ever-so-pricey under Tim Cook. He's the real for profit only CEO, riding on previous successes under Jobs.

This thread, 84 pages and on, never once answered by a community administrator. They clearly are downplaying to not affect their stock prices. There are many more issues and they are not addressing them. Imagine having $200B in reserves and can't even get themselves fix the **** issues in a timely manner. They release iOS updates like pizza in a conveyor belt. They even angered developers when they release iOS 14 at one day's notice. Clearly it's because the Apple Watch Series 6 would be released the following Friday. Once again, a move for profit.

I'm really rooting for Apple to be the best in hardware/software/services integration. Right now, when I see any Apple product or services, I would immediately think they're buggy (especially the first versions) and I don't want to pay them to be a "beta tester". I hope they start to really innovate, not just on some, but as a whole. Stop putting more money into marketing with alot of disclaimers.

Agreed. Though, in my case as mentioned before, I can't return nor replace my phone due to me not noticing this issue early and selling my Xs. So, sadly, and I hate to say it, I am forced to live with whatever this defect is (hardware/software).

Though as a customer now, Apple has left a dent in my trust, and it will be bigger if this issue isn't software and turns out to be hardware with them being silent or silencing the so called "big YouTubers" so that they don't lose their privileges of "early access and invites", and they start a year later a program to replace these displays and saying at the top of the letter "Only a small percentage is affected", which would be aggravating to all of us.

Either way, because of this device, it will be hard for them to get a sweet grand+ out of me.

the one thing that angers me most is that we all have been told, verbally, that apple is aware of the problem and to wait for an update but there is some comment written by some employee or some official press release? all companies can have problems, especially in a period like this, but a company like apple should have released a official statement talking about the problem ..my fear is that no solution will be given .. at this point I expect everything .. let's hope so, I still want to trust apple

It’s not possible that after months apple didn’t fix it yet! We spent a lot of money for this new iPhone and it’s not correct that most of us has the same problem and Apple don’t let us do anything.. We cannot change it at the apple store and also with the last software update the bug is not fixed.. i’m really sick of it

Everyone is talking about how their phone’s green tint on pure black display/image is now fixed. But how about on grey display/image? Could someone confirm here if the 14,5 B2 fixed green tint on grey images?

I do not plan installing bet@ softw&re because I don’t want to risk my main phone.

Mine’s good and no green tint at pure black images at all, but when it goes to dark greys, that’s where it goes when green tint is very noticeable yikes

i m waiting for ther public beta so this means that it was not a software issue , cos for their wording it seems more like an hardware issue, and they try to reduce the green or gray glow with software, i do not care if it really works..; i'll terst it on public beta on my 8th iphone 12 pro max, but Apple could not make a recall as of now, because they need to sell and dont put the brakes on iphone 12 success, but i bet we will see a recall after iphone 13 will be released.

It’s very frustrating.

I switched from the iPhone 11 to this (12 pro) because of the oled screen and this is what they have to offer?

It’s embarrassing. There are 400$ phones with better screens than this 1200$ one.

Apple, get your sh**t toguether and solve the problem, this is unnaceptable.

At first (before the 14.5 beta 2) the issue was mitigated by just using a non-dark wallpaper, but with this “fix” the only way to use the phone without getting frustrated is to use it without dark mode, because now even the lists are fu**ed up.

Apple. FIX THIS or offer a remplacement.
