iPhone 12 OLED Screen Issue

okay so apple sent me a mail after i posted just regular talk without being offesnive .. so i do not get why ,

but to recap what i was saying, i would never had ordered so much iphones since it's release day one, if Apple Aknowledged the issue and made an open letter about it, but when reading threads or videos on youtube some testify that they do not have the issue, so each time i ordered one, i was hoping to get a perfect unit.

If Apple would have been release an open letter near the end of november saying yup there is a issue in some iphones 12 display and we will fix it . i would have never done that..

I think it is because of just my theroy abnout different displays quality being assembled depending on the color on the pro max.. maybe it souded like a weird theory, but i was just curious cos i'm pretty positive most of us have a blue pro or pro max iphone..

i didn't had the idea to take a screenshot on the halo effect when changing volume on youtube, but it is buggy it flickers, and to be honest i think we all agree it's more annoying than pleasing to the eyes...

i dunno what to think anymore, all i know is the last 14.5 fixed it in still screen, but not on videos.. and the issue doesn't reproduce the same way on each video app so it's really weird, like as i said VLC is the only one that i could male reproduce the issue. despite flippin the phone in landscape multiple times ect..

i left a message there under your video, cos there is a simple word that we could tlaked about before that is censored now... beta.. lol so i guess i'll go to reddit to keep up the discussion cos there are many threads out there.. for everyone to see.

I just had a screen repair appointment today. Bad news, they replaced the display, but the issue is still there. It’s not fixed at all. And I need to spend money again for another screen protector. Wasted 2 hours of my time.

I posted earlier about getting my screen rrplaced and the issue being fixed. It was fine the first day, but last night in the dark I noticed the issue was still there are certain brightness levels. It is definitely not as bad as before, however it is still there. It even flashes when watching youtube on black screens still.

Yup, this is how I see it too. The problem is still there but kinda very low but still noticeable. I actually thought it was already fixed but then I saw it again but in very very faint glow. It seems they trying to hide it rather than fix it.

Now I reported it again to Apple Support. They will call me in a few mins or so. I asked them to replace my screen protector since they never fix it in the first place. See where it'll end up.

I do not need to find a video to see the issue. Just go to dark mode and go to settings, maybe software update screen because there’s a big empty totally black space there. I already confirmed mine. No need to repeat it again.

Thx alot , that's reasuring, can u tell us in which country u live and what are the first 2 digits of the serial number ? is it an F2, FZ, G0 , cos each time i see somone who say's he or she got a perfect one, i'm temped to return back both iphone 12 pro max i have left and order my 11th and 12th ones..

My serial starts with F2. According to the website:

Production year : 2021 

Production week : 2 (January) 

I have purchased it in Germany, its a EU model.

The serial on the 12 Pro which I sold started with DN which means October 2020

i dunno if I have to thank u or not, lol I’m tempted now to order two others 12 pro max to see if I get lucky and get one made in 2021 , so maybe Apple fixed the issue on their latest batch , the issue is even if I order 2 or 4 iPhones now I may get phones made in December ….. that’s a real bummer cos I’m tired of ordering and sending back phones. I will wait until the 9th of March to see if iOS get updated and all issues are fixed cos I have until this date to return both phones and ask for a refund.

at least we learned something interesting today , that the German website can tell us if the production week was in 2021… cos I started to have doubt about this

i have tried many times 3utools running in big sur with parallels desktop, and the app never detects my IOS devices despite habing the warning to connect it to the virtual machine... did u guys used bootcamp to do that ? or u didn't had the same issue as mine on parallels ?

i've finally managed to try 3utools and i've got 3 iphone 12 pro max , and each have a display that start with G9... does someone remember what grade is it ? cos i know the info are somewhere in this thread , but cannot find the page..lol

You mean which ones are supposed to be the best / worst quality? I think the original information came from an Asian forum

post whereby G9N should be the best followed by G9Q and G9P (all Samsung). But this Information turned out to be inaccurate. On MacRumors you find reportings of good and bad panels of each serial number by a variety of users.

honestly, now I am unsure how much correct are the sites that show the manufacturing date , display type , quality etc .

someone here mentioned that last week they recieved an iPhone 12 Pro Max from week 48, whereas their earlier iPhone 12 Pro Max was from week 51/52!🙂 not sure how much accurate are these sites that predict manufacturing dates , display types etc !
