iPhone 12 OLED Screen Issue

Hello. I bought two iPhone 12 and both has the same issue. In dark surrounding on any brightness lower than 90-100% screen has this ugly glowing! Black pixels are not turning off in dynamic scenes. In static scene black pixels turning off after few seconds.

My video shows it in video and in clock app.

And this is comparison by another one person who have this problem but with iPhone 12 Pro. iPhone 12 Pro vs iPhone XS screen.

That’s not normal at all. I post it to support and they said I should wait more. That’s just great...

Lots of people in Korea have this problem too, I just hope that it can be solved by software update.

When I boot up my iphone 12pro, and when I watch dark video especially including black color, the OLED doesn't show me the complete black color. I really hope that it is just a software bug and can be fixed by software update.

whoever thinks their green tint or dim glow is fixed open this video play it in portrait you can see only the video portion blinking and all the YouTube and comments stay still the video will flicker. Now play it in landscape mode don’t pinch to zoom and randomly touch your display you can see both the right and left side of your screen flashing.

its not a YouTube issue. Because its not there in my 11 pro max and xs max and othe oled phones.

even Photos app of iPhone you can replicate this issue. Simply open your favourite photo and there will be black bars right in photos app above and below the photo put your brightness at low or even at 20-40% and you can see those black bars glow. Apple hasn’t fixed it they just minimising the effects of it. There is some problems with the display pannel i think. Just keep a grey or ash pic and a black pic and try to swipe it back and forth you can see a violent kind thing when you swipe the photos.

I have been active in this forum since November last year and have been having a lot of theories. I have had 7 iPhones replaced with all of them having green tint problems. I kept the one which had least tint or at least the tint disappeared after a few seconds, and it has been fixed for me in 14.5. The above video, I did it every time I checked each phone, and now I don’t have it. Also the photos app I don’t have any problem. My gf used to think I am crazy, putting off the lights and going in the bed sheet. I have the ideal conditions to check in my toilet where there is no window and no light leak when you put off the lights and I tested every iPhone 12 mini there and after updating to 14.5 there is absolutely no problem. I have true blacks. It looks like different iPhones have different degrees of green tint.

You sure? Because touch everything is working fine there. I really don’t want to take it to repair thats why waiting for an official statement from apple about the green tint. This spot has nothing to do with the screen right i mean the screen quality like the lcd screen will get these spot eventually and get bigger and another main reason I don’t wanna take it to repair is that in India no official apple store so when taken to 3rd party repair they charge us even phone in warranty and also service is very bad. I am waiting to ho to uae bcz its where I bought the phone or soon i will go back to china to continue my studies i am just waiting to show it to direct apple store. If its lamination issue i am thinking to wait? Whats t ur opinion

Same here i was using a xs max its nit even worth to upgrade from xs max. The biggest mistake of my lofe selling xsmax and taking 12 pro max. I felt camera is a big downgrade than an upgrade. The photos are always overexposed especially the selfies. Selfies are so bad if there is a bright background the hdr is very bad. The video at 4k 60fps always flickers. The display always dim glow basically its a phone with ton of issues. Apple was so bad with their phones they just rushed without any quality control. I sold my 12 pro max and got a cheaper mi phone. Will see for 13 pro max if they don’t fix any of these issues i am done with apple. At Premium price we expect premium products

It’s July iOS 14.6 iPhone 12. The flickering issue is still present. I went to the Apple service to show them the issue they kept my phon under observation for 1 day but said they couldn’t find the issue. It’s like Apple has just ignored this flaw because they might have to recall every iPhone 12 ever made. Some people don’t even realise that their iPhone has this issue which is even more upsetting because there’s not enough people complaining for Apple to look into this

It’s now July 2021 and it takes three to eight seconds depending on what’s on screen for the black pixels to change to completely off instead of a very faint green. It’s *just* noticeable enough to bother me, looks like an LCD rather than an OLED but then why did I buy an iPhone 12 and not an iPhone 11? iOS 14.6. Not a good first impression on a new iPhone user, Apple!
