iPhone 7 lagging when unlocking

It's not funny anymore. before each update, say so.

How long have you been using 14.5.1 for? Usually the lag comes back after a couple of days when you have done the update.

Maybe the lag isn't the same on every device. I couldn't reproduce it after the update for example.

I have seen that the lagging happens now when you turn off the device and turn it on it animates them

Good evening! The same problem is observed on ios 14.2. When unlocking iphone 7 (32 Gb), the animation lags for 3 seconds, and then everything is ok. The bug is repeated 1 time out of 5. But when it is repeated it is very annoying. Free memory is more than half, battery status is 97%. A full factory reset and restore from a backup didn't help.

Since switching from dynamic to still backgrounds yesterday, I haven't had the lag while unlocking. Perhaps when the phone wakes, animating the background and loading the unlock process is too much to handle.

It's a shame apple didn't gave any official response on this issue. It is clear that this issue affects a lot (if not all) iPhone 7 users and makes usage of phone is highly unpleasant. Is this continuation of apple strategy to degrade performance of previous generation phones to force users to upgrade?

Hey, I’m using an iPhone 7 Plus, have 92% battery health and over 10gb of free storage, and even I’m facing the same issue after updating to iOS 14. Thought that Apple would fix it with 14.3, but was left disappointed. A temporary fix would be to go slow on the phone cus it seems like an issue when you’re trying to do things quickly. It’s certainly not cus the A10 can’t handle iOS 14, it’s some sort of performance bug.
