iPhone 7 lagging when unlocking

Wondering if any iPhone 7 users have experienced this issue whereby the phone will lag and become very sluggish when unlocking the phone. This issue arrived when I updated to iOS 14 and I didn’t have this problem in iOS 13. After unlocking , the animations will turn off and opening apps, scrolling through your apps will be really really laggy. After about 10 second when the unlock icon at the top of the screen disappears, then everything run as usual. Please respond if anyone have faced this issue before.

Just adding my voice to the thread, had this infuriating issue on iPhone 7 since iOS 14 launched.

As someone earlier in the thread pointed out, it does seem (at least in my case) to be related to pushing the button to wake up the phone. This appears to not wake up the CPU correctly leading to a period of intense lag.

Enabling "Wake on Raise" and then raising the phone to wake it, before unlocking the phone via Touch ID works perfectly. It's important to note that pushing the button to wake still causes lag. You must raise the phone to wake it.

An awful workaround, but since Apple doesn't seem to care about the issue, it will have to do.

I also observe the same issue on my iPhone 7 128GB. I have more than half of the storage free and just got the battery replaced last week. I observe this since iOS 14, currently on iOS 14.3. I observed that the issue does not happen when the phone is on charge. I also observed that the issue only happens after unlocking the phone using Home Button and Touch ID. The issue does not happen when I first press the power button, then touch the Home Button to unlock with Touch ID. The issue also never happens if Touch ID is turned off.

I never change anything except oem battery, that was last year and its working fine until ios14 update. Battery is okay and health is good. Screen and everything is original from this phone so hardware is not an issue, its ios14 bug and its not fixed yet. I tried all solutions and none of them worked so far.

Its every day worse and worse, and so disturbing, annoying, frustrating to use it... From loving this phone, size, diaplay, one hand use and being okay with so terrible battery life of 3-4h screen on time, and loving to keep it and probably buying new SE or 12 mini, now im starting hating this phone so much that it's start to going on my nerves and I'm not even going to sell it, just throw phone, apple watch, ipod in bin, and not saying about paying music and rest to apple that need to cancel now. I'm now looking for Android phone back again (after 3+ years) same size or similar as this 7. Iphone you disappoint me over again, I gave apple another chance (cos first time was the same with lagging and freezing 7-8 years ago) and now it was great, so smooth to use that I love it so much, until ios14 and now its nightmare, freezing lagging like im usin 2G from 2007, and I start to hate this phone a lot and can't wait to find phone (android again) that is good for me again.
