iOS 14.2 intercom issues

Had the same issue and resolved.

on the device that is only showing ‘never’ go into the privacy setting, location services and then come down to HomeKit. If this is set to never then it stop you changing the status. Change this and go back to the home setting in HomeKit and you’ll be able to change the notifications.

Yea good call. Just figured out the issues here. The other members had their home app notifications disabled. Once turned on all was good

That worked. But truly it shouldn’t be like that. Nor should you somehow have to guess that you have to turn location services on for the intercom to work. That doesn’t make any sense? And even now, I have one device that it’s not working on, despite location and notifications being on. It would be hard to find a bigger Apple fan than I, and even I get irritated by the stuff.

I’m still having this issue. All location services, notifications etc are on but when my husband replies to an intercom message the notification comes up on my phone with a play button but the notification doesn’t respond to tapping.

i’ve got iPhone 8, my husband has iPhone 11 and his plays no problem on his phone.

I’m at a loss as to what to do next?!

Ok, worked out the device issue. If I send the intercom from a device that I am logged into, then the notification does not show up at any other device I am logged into.

What do you mean by "logged into" a device? As in the devices that are connected to your iCloud account? Would you want to be receiving your own messages on your other devices?

I have a HomePod Mini and the Siri-enabled instructions Apple gives are too complicated to understand—and I'm a member of MENSA.

I have the same issue as well... My wife's iPhone (7plus) allows for Home > Home Settings > Intercom > Receive Notification When (Never, When I'm Home, Anywhere). However, my son's (6s) and daughter's (Xr) Receive Notification When only has "Never" as a choice. They don't have the option to select "When I'm Home" OR "Anywhere!" Not sure why???

Did you ever figure this out? It’s so low I didn’t even realize it was playing until I put me ear to the speaker.
