iPhone won’t send pics to Android

I am having the same problem as other users in that I can’t send texts or photos to Android users. This started on December 23, 2020. I have tried every solution that Apple provides yet nothing will fix this issue. I was running on IOS 14.2 and thought 14.3 might fix the issue. I ran the software change and it has NOT fixed it. What caused this to happen and what are you going to do to fix it?

Both my wife and I are having this same problem, with two brand new iPhone 12s. Pictures *will* send to other Apple phones, but *not to Android phones*. Please do not recommend that I "check my wifi", or "enable SMS and MMS", because that makes it sound like this is not a known problem that tens of thousands of users are experiencing.

My wifi is allowing photos to go to other iPhones. My SMS and MMS are enabled. My brand new iPhone 12 keeps on keeps on not sending pics to Android phones.

What is going on Apple folks?

Mysteriously, my iPhone 6e has begun "working" again, with an active icon by the message window and the ability to attach already taken photos to the one person with an Android with whom I message. I wonder if it helps if that person has sent pictures to YOU? Android to iPhone? I have turned my phone off and on several times in the interlude. I have NOT allowed a 14.3 update, so that does not explain it. I have also not tested this against multiple Android phones.

It would be very helpful (responsible) if an Apple tech person would weigh in here.

That’s exactly the date it began happening! Once in a while, if I turn off iMessage I can get one picture to send to my husband (Android user), but that “trick” doesn’t always work. This is not a carrier issue. This is an Apple issue. Please resolve ASAP.

I had the same problem, and everything I could find in Settings looked right for SMS/MMS messaging. Then I realized that the people I were trying to send to were people I had “Pinned” to the top of Messages. When I “unpinned” them, all my picture functionality came back. I can send them pictures from my camera roll, and I can take a picture directly in the message again. I pinned them back to the top again, and (for now) it seems I can still send pictures, but it would not surprise if I have to unpin them again.

I am also having trouble, it is not the WiFi, I have mms on and still, nothing. This makes me really upset. The world is not on a Apple so this is ridiculous you chase limited communication with other phones. In addition to pictures and screen shots, GIFs won’t go through either.

Same problem for me. I’ve tried all the fixes, tricks, and resets and still haven’t been able to solve this problem. At least my texts are going through I suppose. Even in group texts I can only send to those with Apple phones. It feels like a cheap trick to be limiting us to Apple users only.

Still an issue currently. I was able to send 2 photos to two android users right after disconnecting the wifi but unable to send anything to the same people a couple of seconds later. Super frustrating, super outdated, still no info or solution from Apple. 👍

I’m having the same issue, sat with Verizon support for hours and nothing. Tried every permutation and combination of what everybody else has posted. If this is an Apple issue why haven’t they responded. Both iPhones in out family has this issue. Please respond Apple.

I have been having this issue since the 14.3 update on Christmas Day 12/25/2020. Apple told me it’s my carrier. My carrier can’t find any issues. I’ve lived in the same house for 4.5 years and this hasn’t been an issue since before this update. I’m relieved to see I’m not crazy! They need to own up up the problem and fix this.

Back up phone in iTunes. Do a full reset back to factory. Once it comes back up try it and see if that corrects the issue. Then restore the phone from the back up and see if it corrected or goes back to having an issue

I’ve had this issue since at least October 2020. I have auto updates enabled. I’ve tried all suggestions in this thread except the phone reset and none of it either fir me. I have a 6s on ATT. I’m surprised there hasn’t been any reply from Apple support in this. Really disappointing.

I'm having the same issue. Cannot send pics to any of my contacts with Android devices. Tried the items listed in this discussion as well as the linked support page. Is this an issue that there are any plans to fix or will this be rolled out as a new "feature". Frankly, Apple, you're losing your way and focus and it's sad to see.

Update: Pictures started going through to Android users late yesterday. However iOS 14.4 installed today and immediately broke it again, so good going Apple. Certianly wouldn't want people to talk and share unless they're part of your walled garden.

It’s been this way for years in my house. It will send if I go outside and it gets picked up by the cellular service that is weak in my house. It is esp. frustrating when groups include non ios users. Message says not delivered but sometimes ios users get and Android does not. Mostly, no one gets. My settings are all correct, mms is on. What can be done?? Help!
