Ever since the last iOS update I’ve lost the ability to send pictures to Android users. MMS is enabled, I’ve tried resetting network settings, and with iMessage turned off and on with nothing working. Had anyone else experienced this recently?
iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 14
Apple engineers gave me a reply back finally and told me they suggest that I back up my iCloud and then I go into my settings - general - reset - erase all content and settings.
it worked, but I’m ****** I had to do that because of all of the unfavorable hoops Apple put me though during this process.
at first the man denied it’s an apple problem, “99% of the time it’s the carrier”.
and then I had to reach back out to them after they said they would call me.. which I didn’t receive, and now I have to redownload all of my apps again and set up my phone like I just spent $1000 bucks on a new phone.
Turning off cellular data and rebooting worked, but this is not a sufficient permanent solution. I too am frustrated at the lack of response from an Apple rep.
I have had no issues since turning off/on my cellular as well and I’m now all good.
MMS wil not go thru with WiFi on. Turn your WiFi off and MMS will go thru. It was not necessary to reboot.
Apple engineers made me reset my entire phone. “All content and settings”,
now my phone works like it should.
Had the same issue, turned off cellular data and it worked.
It’s an issue with the OS upgrade. Go to an Apple store to see if they can fix. Took only a few mins and there was no charge. But it’s working for me now.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you can send messages to Android but photos do not go through.
Great troubleshooting so far. What happens exactly when you try to send a photo to an Android user? Is there an error message? We recommend all steps from If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If the same thing happens, does it happen on a certain network or with a particular contact?

I’m not refusing to see anything, but since you keep mentioning Wi-Fi I concluded that you don’t understand how MMS works.
I upgraded, and my wife upgraded, and neither of us have a problem sending MMS. And I suspect that most of the 500 million iPhones that are eligible also upgraded, and most of them didn’t have problems, because if even a tiny fraction of them did this thread would be 1,000 pages, not 10 pages. So it’s a problem with your phone, not with the specific update.
Did you see the post from Baleca just above? And their post on the previous page about how they fixed it? And my reply to that describing what the Apple genius did to fix it?
Oh, and have you tried Settings/General/Reset - Reset All Settings?
After a week I'm fairly confident that the latest 14.7 IOS update fixed this problem in my iPhone 12. One quirk I noticed is that it still doesn't like copy/pasting of images. It wants actual filesystem images with the file path.
I failed to mention one thing I also did after that update. I cycled Messages -> iMessage off for a minute and then turned it back on. I have no idea if that accomplished anything useful but the combination of the 14.7 update and this suddenly let me send images to Android phones that were rejecting them for months.
I have had no issues since turning off /on cellular so for me it is permanent.
Not a carrier issue, works sending picture with Cellular data on but not over wifi with cellular data off. This is an apple software issue.
Totally disagree. Its a provider and tower issue, not the phone.
I showed you how to test the signal in an above message. Prove me wrong - test your cellular when this is failing to send an image. Turn off WiFi, how many cellular bars? Then test with Coverage Map. What is the upload speed?

Because your carrier hasn’t provisioned MMS messaging on your account, or, if they have, you haven’t turned on MMS in Settings/Messages.
Same iPhone 11 just got a new 1 because my last 11 broke. The issue is the same no pics to non iPhone no group. My text now app sends them to non iphone
