iPhone won’t send pics to Android

Ever since the last iOS update I’ve lost the ability to send pictures to Android users. MMS is enabled, I’ve tried resetting network settings, and with iMessage turned off and on with nothing working. Had anyone else experienced this recently?

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 14

Apple engineers gave me a reply back finally and told me they suggest that I back up my iCloud and then I go into my settings - general - reset - erase all content and settings.

it worked, but I’m ****** I had to do that because of all of the unfavorable hoops Apple put me though during this process.

at first the man denied it’s an apple problem, “99% of the time it’s the carrier”.

and then I had to reach back out to them after they said they would call me.. which I didn’t receive, and now I have to redownload all of my apps again and set up my phone like I just spent $1000 bucks on a new phone.

I also have this issue. I am noticing that the pics will go thru in the early morning hours but not in the afternoon. I have AT&T and Apple seems to be telling me it’s an issue with my carrier. They suggested a new SIM card as the one I had may be corrupted. This is a new I phone 12 Pro and I was having the same issue with my 6. I went to the nearby AT&T store and of course the have a signal booster so I had a full set of bars. It worked fine. I went ahead and got the new SIM card anyway and went home again where I barely have 1 bar. Again a pic was undeliverable to a droid phone. It progresses and just stops. Still no solution. Texts go they fine. It’s just an issue with pics to droids

It is NOT an Apple issue. I have no problem sending MMS messages to Android devices, and hundreds of millions of other people don’t either, as evidenced by the fact that you don’t see tens of thousands of posts about it. Do you have Cellular Data turned on?

And did you see the post from BobUlius who found a solution and posted it on this very page? That had nothing to do with their iPhone, and everything to do with AT&T?

And Apple doesn’t participate, so saying "Apple DO SOMETHING!” is an utter waste of your energy and your time.

I going to venture to say that the HUGE majority of people with this issue are having a Cellular Signal Strength issue. Period. I have spent more hours than I can count working with AT&T (and they are not alone with this issue) and Apple.

Sara, you MUST have a different issue on YOUR phone as you have full Cellular Bars (wifi is meaningless for this issue as Lawrence says) and another phone on the same carrier in same location works.

So it is either a setting that was missed - and many have been mentioned here to check. I have see oddities on some things "similar" not working when Location Services were turned off, for example. Not at all suggesting that is the issue here, Sara, but worth checking.

I'd bet folding money it is not an IOS update issue as there would be threads and threads on other forums I visit daily.

So this is a different issue than most on your specific phone.

Not sure if every setting has been posted here but likely most. If that does not help, go to Apple. If they do not help, have them exchange the phone. If that does not work, go back to Android and we will try to send you pictures :)

Cannot think of anything else to suggest. Good luck!

I too am having this same problem. I’m sitting next to my wife on the couch and trying to share pics and nothing goes through. Been that way since the update.

I don’t even bother reporting it since like you all I get is more questions and no support.

I’ve done all the MMS/SMS and wi-fi moves, power off/on, disabled iMessage, etc and nothing works.

Just another example of a mandatory ‘upgrade’ that robs us of the most basic functionality of a phone.

Mysteriously, my iPhone 6e has begun "working" again, with an active icon by the message window and the ability to attach already taken photos to the one person with an Android with whom I message. I wonder if it helps if that person has sent pictures to YOU? Android to iPhone? I have turned my phone off and on several times in the interlude. I have NOT allowed a 14.3 update, so that does not explain it. I have also not tested this against multiple Android phones.

It would be very helpful (responsible) if an Apple tech person would weigh in here.

I have been having this issue since the 14.3 update on Christmas Day 12/25/2020. Apple told me it’s my carrier. My carrier can’t find any issues. I’ve lived in the same house for 4.5 years and this hasn’t been an issue since before this update. I’m relieved to see I’m not crazy! They need to own up up the problem and fix this.

I figured it out! I went out and bought a nice photo printer plus ink and photo paper. Then I went home and spent a few hours installing it. Then I printed my photos by attaching my new photo printer to my fancy iPhone. Then I got in my car and drove my photos to my friend, who happens to have an android. He lives 300 miles away, but my boss gave me 2 days off to deliver the photos. Then my friend used their fancy android phone camera to take pictures of the printed photos and viola! The photos were magically transferred from my iPhone to their android. The future of tech is awesome.

It’s been this way for years in my house. It will send if I go outside and it gets picked up by the cellular service that is weak in my house. It is esp. frustrating when groups include non ios users. Message says not delivered but sometimes ios users get and Android does not. Mostly, no one gets. My settings are all correct, mms is on. What can be done?? Help!

I have this issue with iPhone, iPad and Mac 2017 with Touchbar. All with same error no matter what network. If I send a message with picture to any non-iphone it simply fails with red exclamation. Even if I'm sending to a group and all have iPhones but one Android users them message will fail to all. I can send to all iMessage if no android phone is in the group. This has been an isssue since IOS 14 came out. It happened on mt XS Max and now my 12 Pro Max with 14.4
