Cannot sign in to iCloud on Windows 10

My iCloud directory on Windows 10 was acting up (files would randomly... not sync). I haven't changed any security settings related to my Apple account. So, I decided to reinstall it.

Now, whenever I try to open iCloud after installing it from the Microsoft Store, I always get the following error after a long wait:

"An error occurred during authentication. Please try again."

If I enter the incorrect password, it tells me so right away. I also have no problem accessing iCloud through a web browser on my iPad. I'm losing my mind over this, please help. :(

Hello peteykun,

It appears that you're unable to sign in iCloud for Windows on your PC. Are you updated to the latest version of Windows? Can you attempt to sign in using a different user account on your PC?

Please also take a look at the following. Set up and use iCloud for Windows

Yes, I am already on the latest version of Windows.

Somehow, the problem magically fixed itself. After a few reboots, I decided to try logging in again from the tray icon, and voila, it worked. I'm sure this isn't particularly helpful to anyone who finds this in future but for me, the issue is resolved.

I have exactly the same problem here. After I couldn't sync files on Windows anymore, I did a fresh installation.

Now I can't log in the iCloud client on anymore. On my Mac it still works... have no idea what happened here.... I see no problems with my firewall or similar

Did you solve it?
