i have my iphone 12 here with me still in the box, i’m scared to open it as a quick google search has resulted in many people saying their iphone 12’s have scratched really easily. As i’ve payed £799 i don’t want to scratch it, any answers?

But be aware that the Samsung forums are full of customers complaining how easily their screens scratch, and Samsungs come with a screen protector preinstalled from the factory.

You can add a screen protector to protect against scratches; there’s nothing you can apply to a screen to meaningfully protect it from shattering.
Scratches SO EASILY. Scratched the first day I had it. And often since then. It’s just from putting it into my pocket.
That’s true I think. I put in my bag just before I bought the screen protector and it’s already scratched :(
I bought mine in 2021, April and yes it is easily scratched. What a big dissappointment.
I was so excited about my pacific blue iPhone 12 Pro Max had I known the screen would scratch like this I would never have upgraded makes me want to take another look at Samsung handsets
Simply not true.
I had a screen protector put on when I bought my 12 pro max. The protector cracked two weeks later and when I took it off I had scratches all around the edge where the protector didn’t reach.
Never had screen scratches in any of my previous iPhones but with this one I have like one new every week! It’s crazy!
i hope there are replacements coming because it’s embarrassing having these gouges from virtually no abnormal usage at all
yes i read quite a few people showing scratches and i instantly put a protector on mine but it was from an iphonex so i got a proper size protector for it and by removing the old one and using it for a few hours i went to put new one on and i noticed a tiny dot, like a mini chip like a pin prick in the glass screen, nothing but my finger touched it cos i was so paranoid about it, now i will never be happy with it cos i feel the screen material is bad
Yes it scratches very easily. My previous I phones have never had scratches in the screen and the new iPhone 12 pro I got a month ago already has multiple scratches!! I try to protect my phone as much as possible but expected the screen to be strong enough to withstand the contents of my coat pocket.
Me too. This is my first IPhone after years of being android. I’ve had this 12pro Max for 3 days. Never dropped and only been in a pocket by itself. This morning , I notice a small scratch up on the top by the ear speaker. Wow. Total disappointment in iPhone. My Samsung galaxies have survived much harder abrasions and had no scratches. I’m wishing I stayed with Samsung now after seeing all these posts.
I’m disappointed with the screen they sold me a lie they said it was ceramic screen not easy to crack ? WTH is going on ? Rule out 1 don’t have sharps laying around me in my living room . 2 I definitely haven’t dropped it . 3 I have not left my house at all since having this iPhone 12 Pro Max cos A Me and my husband are not fit to dare go out with our medical conditions, I want to know if Apple manufacturers have put an ordinary cheap glass to this phone for cutting corners? You know the Covid exscuse carnt afford the proper ceramic one when this corvid is done I want answers now but I think from reading other guys problems with their phone screen they have been dumped off , I want to know if they are aware of this and if it’s a faulty batch we all have bought???
That’s not the point I Shouldn’t have to I don’t like them! The alternative is a scratched screen I know but if the screen is prone to scratch but not shatter it should come with a screen protector as standard but apple obviously won’t be admitting that any time soon
apple Support even worse. Three different senior advisors promised me everything from free replacement, free repair and even a free set of AirPods for the problem. All of which they failed to honor. All lied.
Why did you use it for a week without a protector?
I have always had my protector on hand before opening the phone box for the first time, and the protector goes on before it is even turned on for the first time.
