iPhone 12 pro max shipping

I placed my order right when pre-order started at 5:00 am on November 6th. However, it still says preparing to ship but says that it should arrive by Friday the 13th (it's the 10th today). I'm wondering if apple just lags in shipping updates or something, or what other people's orders say. I am in Canada by the way

With ALL iPhone launches you won't get see a status change until the last two days, when it goes from processing, to preparing to ship, to shipped. It all happens rather quickly. Rest assured if Apple told you your phone is coming on Friday, you'll get it Friday.

Fairly unacceptable for Apple to be selling equipment they don’t have after all the hype they put into pushing this to the customer base. It would be nice to hear from Apple that they are letting customers down rather than read it in the press. My order has sat “processing” for a week now, it’s the 21st century and surely processing doesn’t take a week, it sounds more like “we don’t have stock and we’re waiting for units to become available so we’ll just leave you guessing!!!”

You can't be serious, can you?? Are you not aware there is a worldwide pandemic which is slowing the manufacture of things from electronics, to cars, to furniture, to appliances WORLDWIDE.

I had the same experience! Up until now on UPS MyChoice it showed the tracking of the device from China to Alaska. About 20 minutes ago UPS updated to show the package in Kentucky now and I finally got the “shipped” email and updated status from apple. Both still say it’s on track to be delivered tomorrow! I heard this same process happened with the iPhone 12 and 12 pro and apple just didn’t update the tracking until the last two days! Here’s to hoping everything is still on track! 🤞

Yes, perfectly serious. If the pandemic is causing delays then be upfront and tell your customers, announce delays and explain. Not saying anything and letting technical difficulties come to light in tech forums is bad for reputations. Apple chose the release date in full knowledge of any impacts that the pandemic has and would have, its been here since March, wasn’t exactly a surprise now was it!

You're living on a different planet.

Millions of people are getting their Pro Max tomorrow. But not everyone who ordered on pre-order day will as there can only be so many phones available and Apple couldn't possibly know in advance exactly how many they need to have before orders are received. Even in years without a pandemic, Apple could not deliver phones to every single person who ordered one on Pre-Order day.

Last year, I ordered the 11 Pro Max within 2 minutes of orders going live. My phone didn't come until three weeks after launch day. I didn't complain about it. I understand how supply chain works and that people get their phones in the order they were in line when the order is made. It's supply and demand and your expectation one should be available for EVERYONE who orders one is unrealistic and entitled, to be honest.

No, I’m on the same planet, although your responses leave a lot to be desired. I’m voicing my experience, it’s not what is or isn’t available, it’s the messaging thats off point. I work in the tech world, it’s always best of under promise and over deliver not the other way round.

If there are issues with stock levels why not be upfront and say so? And what I find particularly irritating is the fact that at point of order the delivery was stated 13th to 23rd within a few days it was 23rd to 30th and has now shifted to 30th. No explanation as to why these dates have moved. If you think that isn’t troublesome then customer services is not a vocation for you.

Nov 12, 2020 7:45 AM in response to Hoppers65

Sorry you feel my response leaves a lot to be desired. Please point out where Apple said anywhere a phone would be ready for every single person who ordered one on pre-order day? You can't. Because there's NO WAY Apple can know how many people are going to order a phone. Whether you like my responses or not, your expectation is unrealistic even if there were NO pandemic, and doubly so because there IS a pandemic.

Do enjoy your phone when you get it. I truly hope this is the worst thing going on in your life for if it is, you are truly lucky.

Ps: If dates are moving to later dates, it highlights the difficulty Apple and ALL other manufacturers are facing in the age of Covid getting products built and ready to be shipped. And keep in mind, Apple has to rely on other manufacturers for some parts in an iPhone so they are at the other parts suppliers mercy too.

Is anyone listen / reading from Apple

-------------------------------------------------

I Ordered Iphone 12 pro max online thru apple website, I am connected with apple and prefer apple because apple is committed to provide best privacy and security.Today from Ups.com i find out that my iPhone 12 pro max is shipped from China, how can i trust Apple now, security & privacy can breach as everything is possible in China, i been there many times. I paid my hard earned Money for iPhone MADE in USA NOT for China. i have taken screen shot of Shipment from Ups.com, China has lot of better mobiles as an option with fewer price compared to iPhone which provide all accessories too, Here we compromised about the accessories too.

My Question is Why we are supplied with CHINA Made iPhone 12 pro max, we all need MADE IN USA. I am sure iPhone delivered to user-end will be endorsed, lebeled as Assembled in California....It is like Cheating the loyal customers, who have trusted Apple since they came in market.....

Can anyone explain this.........What is happening.....Are we cheated for the money we spending......

No one here could possibly know what's up with that. We are all users on this user to user only forum, so none of us work for Apple.

If you are concerned about your order, reach out to Apple directly and ask what happened.

Did you both order the same color and storage? It could simply be the phone your wife ordered may have more available than the phone you ordered, but only Apple can explain.

Nov 12, 2020 12:27 PM in response to Jonboyhigg

OK........I'd reach out to Apple and see if they can shed light on this.

Last year, when we ordered two iPhone 11, one was ordered and within minutes the second order placed. The first order came on launch day (my partners phone). My phone having been ordered a mere minutes later came 3 weeks later. But you also said your order confirmation suggested both were coming on the 13th, is that correct? If it did, I would at least reach out to Apple to see what happened.
