My iPhone 12 keeps asking for email password

this issue is definately apple related as with my windows devices (laptop, desktop pc etc) I have never experienced this, its only my iphone and ipads and macbook I've had this so for anybody who says it is not apples problem, it clearly is. And as previously mentioned this has happened for years with apple, just some people seem more fortunate than others and dont have the problem but it is a well known problem what I can't understand how apple have got away with for this long. you may find temporay fixes somewhere online but the unfortunate thing is it will probably always happen at some point in the future.

I’m on XS Max and I have the same issues since updating my phone software! Really frustrating... hopefully they’ll sort the issue ASAP as I can’t keep entering my **** passwords every minute.

ive tried the removing off all accounts and re-adding but it still doesn’t work!

Hey, indeed I remember disabling the push setting recently to come back to a manual synchronization of my live account (to see if this would increase my battery life).

I think the issue started about that time.

I’ll revert back to the push setting and see if the issue still occurs.

Mine is iPhone 7 and I too get asked to enter my Hotmail password constantly. Getting tired of it can’t get emails nor can delete etc. Trying hard to keep up with technology at the best of times at my age, stop messing with us. Don’t know when it is a hack or a technical problem.

Just adding my voice to the chorus of 'definitely started since iOS 14'.

In my case, happens daily on two separate Outlook email accounts, both synced on the Mail app, on a 2yo iPhone 8, iOS 14.2. Removing and re-adding the accounts didn't help. Outlook app works fine.

Any word from Apple on a resolution?

I would like to say that I have the same problem with my new iPhone 12 Pro and my older iPad Pro, my partner also has the same problem with her iPhone 11 Pro and iPad 8th generation but all only since updating

Please explain why my Android phone from my employer, which has my same Hotmail and Outlook accounts on it as my personal iPhone Xs, does not repeatedly ask me to re-enter both passwords randomly throughout the day?

You clearly suffer for a high opinion of self. Get off your high horse. People using android and non IOS devices-like me- don’t have this issue on them. It is an issue solely related to Apple. Every forum has its twats and morons. I’m not one, for the avoidance of doubt.

You must either be working for Apple or not aware of what has been happening I have never had a problem with this before the updates and it is only with my Outlook or MSN accounts other email accounts I have never asked for my password to be re-entered and this is happening to my Outlook accounts almost daily Apple needs to fix this and quit having people give false information that it’s not their fault and just fix the problem

I have the same problem but with only 1 hotmail account. I just got a new iphone 12 and updated to the most recent IOS version. My email accounts were all ported from the backup from my iPhone 11. It is a pain in the butt and this is an IOS issue. Please fix this, Apple.

This is true, my battery has been draining overnight while no apps have been opened nor was it plugged in. I thought I imagined it had been at 90% before bed cause I woke up and it was at 29%. Kept an eye on it since and sure enough it’s been draining at night. Did not have this problem before iOS 14.

and yet again today had to put in password for Outlook and my poor mum who is not tech savvy was calling and asking how to fix it again. Come on, Apple, this is just not acceptable.

Same here on my iPhone 11 - also having the same issue on my Mam’s iPhone X (she’s in her 70’s & not very tech-savvy so I’m having to deal with her phone & account too!)

Found thread from Google search. Same here. Since upgrading IOS on my iPhone 8, the iPhone Mail app keeps asking for and making me re-enter my Microsoft Live.com email address password constantly. This sucks. Luckily its a secondary email address but still. Apple broke this not Microsoft. I really don't want to use the Outlook app for it. Also, battery drain increased after the update but that's a whole other issue...

i tried the suggestion of removing the account, restarting the device and then reinstalling it and it didn’t work.

I will admit, however, that the issue has been happening more infrequently lately: from multiple times a day to every other day or so.

Yes, this has been happening to me with outlook account after upgrading to iOS 14. I've deleted the account, restarted, added the account, and nothing seems to fix this problem. Every couple of days it starts with the email password prompt. So annoying
