My iPhone 12 keeps asking for email password

I believe this is incorrect. And this IS an iOS 14+ issue.

since iOS devices that haven't been updated to iOS 14+ do NOT have this issue.

Apple should investigate this and stop pointing to third parties.

I think you misunderstood my statement. I said this was around before, it is not new. (If you google “iPhone 6 keeps asking for email password” you’ll see all of the posts, including mine from years ago. However, maybe they fixed the issue back then and now it is back with the iOS 14 update. So I guess what I’m saying is, they should know how to fix this by now, because it is not a new issue.

Yes. Such a nuisance, especially since it’s back again. One would think they would know how to fix it by now. I can’t remember if I fixed it, or if Apple fixed it with an update at the time (trying so very hard to remember) So very frustrating.

This Email app issue, repeatedly asking for password is just becoming quite big / annoying, there are over 9 pages of people having the same issue, anyone knows what can be done to get #apple attention???#ios14, #iphone....

I posted a review earlier outlining that I started experiencing this issue as soon as I upgraded my iPhone 7 from iOS 12.4 to iOS 14.2, and how quality and testing at Apple was much better in the days of Steve Jobs.

Within a couple of hours Apple were quick to take down my post because apparently it was violating some sort of terms, and send me an email about it.

Shame they can’t respond to users having problems with their products just as quick or fix it, and instead just stay silent.

It’s not like this is the first time this problem has happened. It’s happened many times in the past when you upgrade your OS, so they should already know how to fix it. It’s the key reason I never upgraded iOS as soon as it’s released. Because you can’t trust it to be reliable, or for Apple to react fast when there is a problem.

Let’s see how long this comment stays up before it’s removed.

I agree that it’s a real nuisance - I have 3 Hotmail accounts and get asked for one or other password every couple of hours. IPad is on IOS 14.2, so is iPhone SE. Old iPhone 5S doesn’t have problem, though. Really fed up with this, and shocked at Apple TBH. Normally so efficient and reliable, but not with this update...

This is incorrect. First of, immediately negating it could be an iOS device is irresponsible without providing evidence that it isn't.

Second, if the issue were with the Outlok mail servers, we would be asked for authentication in all apps not just the mail app on iOS.

I’m having the same issue on both my IPad and IPhone. Both are at the current release 14. I’ve had the hotmail account on my phone and iPad for the past 9 years and never had this problem before.

Very annoying to have to keep entering your password.

Come on Apple - get us a fix.

Sorry but you are wrong. It is not an outlook problem. Since the ios update it has mucked it up. Why can’t they leave alone. They keep trying to fix thing that aint broken and then it’s broken because of their meddling 🥸

Been doing this to me migration from 8 to 12 pro on iOS 14.2 & 14.2.1 on 4 outlook accounts.

Also partner is effected on her SE 2020 14.2 since she updated her iOS no migration.

Apple pull your socks up & big boy pants & sort it 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Not sure I follow what you're asking for clarification on, so I'll give a stab at it ...

Sometimes, folks will post a link assuming that it will guide the reader to a specific post in a thread. For example, right-clicking on your reply and copying the link to a text application would show your post number in this thread.

... assuming the forum in question is working as expected, that "should" send the reader directly to your post/reply if you paste said link into a reply.

I used my phone to

• Read emails (doesn't work as per this thread)
• Listen to music (doesn't work)

It took all of about 2 days until I bought an Android phone. The experience on Android is pretty terrible, but I can listen to music and use email, which seems too complex of a functionality for Apple to support.

My IPad Pro has also started doing this in the last month or so! It is not an Outlook issue as it doesn’t request my password on my Samsung Galaxy or Chromebook so definitely an Apple Issue!! So annoying!

Happening on my 12 Pro and on my wifes X. Does not happen with Gmail but the ball is definitely in apples park to sort. Deeply frustrating. Have told friends and family not to install 14.1 or 14.2 after it caused numerous issues on my phone. Spotify stopped working, regularly stated phone had no sim etc.

I’m having the same issue here, at least once a day. I followed all the helpful tips but the same issue keeps happening. I’m starting to loose my patience, if you have found a solution for this please share with us.
