iPhone 12 Pro Max not wirelessly charging

Received my iPhone 12 Pro Max today but it won't wirelessly charge on any of the three Q1 chargers I have. My XS Max and wife's X all work fine. Why is this? I have the Apple silicone case but with the case or without it still won't charge. Starts for a few seconds then the chargers flash a few times and it stops charging.

Have tried the following:

Erase Network Settings - Didn't work

Hard reset (Volume up / Volume down / hold power until Apple logo shows) - Didn't work

Seeing lots of similar posts on other forums. Perhaps the magnets are interfering and Apple just want you to get a Magsafe charger instead?

(Had to select iPhone 11 Pro Max for what device am I referring too as 12 Pro Max not listed)

Try a different power adapter - I bought a wireless charger and was having the same issues, not charging iPhone 12 Pro Max, EarPods and Apple Watch. So I switched the power adapter and used a ‘Anker’ brand Quick Charge 3.0 which solved the issue of the wireless charging for all three devices.

It could be the power output. I just hope it is just a software update fix. It seems to be only affecting the 12 Pro Max models. The last updates fixed the issues on the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro. And that time the Mini and Pro Max wasn’t released yet. So far it works well on my Mophie 7.5 W wireless charging pad. It just doesn’t work on the wireless charging pad in my Toyota Camry which is a lower watt output

Hello I too have had the same issues. It will start to charge my 12pro max .. after a few mins the charger will say charging but the phone is not. Or the charger will blink .. I have tried 3 different cases all name brands. 3 different chargers. New 15w Samsung & pixel stand & mophi 3 in 1. They all worked with my xs max and 11 pro max. Something is up with these new phones ..

I get what ur saying. I’m using a speck and 2 different UAG cases and 3 different wireless chargers still won’t charge. Only thing I have not done is charge without a case. But if that’s the only way to charge my 1300$ phone that’s is not going to be good. Apple needs to fix this issue .. or they did this on purpose to get people to buy a MagSafe wireless charger .. 🤔

i thought I’d post another update. I bought the charger lobsterghost1 recommended and my phone has been charging great. I’m using the Apple silicone MagSafe case and don’t have any issues with the new charger. All of my old chargers (bought from Apple) wouldn’t consistently charge my phone, which sucks since I spent so much money on them.

I don’t know if this helps but this is DEFINITELY a wireless charging issues exclusively. In the video I watched it seemed to be the issue lies with the 12 Pro Max especially the gold phones. I have the 12 pro max in gold.

A couple of things I know for a fact. The older wired USB chargers can charge the 12 pro phone, so it only makes since that a wireless charger should also charge the phone.

Right now I am taking my 3rd party cord to the car to charge it “wired” while I am driving until this issue is resolved. Again I still take the stance that apple should sent 12 pro max users “comp” car and wireless chargers

I also have the same issue with my Tacoma. I can charge without the Apple Magsafe case but if I put the case on it doesn’t charge. I tried another thin case to see if it would work but it still wouldn’t work. I don’t really need to take it out of the case unless my wife and I are both using the truck to charge our phones on a trip. The real point is I shouldn’t have to. You what Steve Jobs used to say ... “It just works” .. Pretty much everything else works except some buggy apps , but that will always be cropping up ..

from Quad Lock

the real answers, major apple stuff up

WIRELESS CHARGING COMPATIBILITY

Magsafe & iPhone 12

Due to the thickness of the Quad Lock mounting feature, the Apple Magsafe charger will not magnetically attach when using a Quad Lock Case.

Apple has also made changes to the iPhone 12 models which reduced the wireless charging range by approximately 50%. Unfortunately, this means that the Magsafe charger is unable to charge iPhone 12's when using a Quad Lock case.

However previous iPhone models (iPhone 8 through to iPhone 11) do charge using the Magsafe wireless charger but the phone will need to be aligned manually on the Magsafe charger.
