iPhone 12 Pro Max not wirelessly charging

Received my iPhone 12 Pro Max today but it won't wirelessly charge on any of the three Q1 chargers I have. My XS Max and wife's X all work fine. Why is this? I have the Apple silicone case but with the case or without it still won't charge. Starts for a few seconds then the chargers flash a few times and it stops charging.

Have tried the following:

Erase Network Settings - Didn't work

Hard reset (Volume up / Volume down / hold power until Apple logo shows) - Didn't work

Seeing lots of similar posts on other forums. Perhaps the magnets are interfering and Apple just want you to get a Magsafe charger instead?

(Had to select iPhone 11 Pro Max for what device am I referring too as 12 Pro Max not listed)

I just bought my 12 Pro Max on Friday (11/13) and last night (11/17), the wireless charging stopped working. I found a video on YouTube that indicates that turning the phone off and then back on will temporarily resolve the issue and that installing iOS 14.2 will resolve it. I tried turning it off and back on and it did start wirelessly charging after that. Installing iOS 14.2 now. In the "About this Update" document, it indicate that the 14.2 release does fix the following issue (among others):

    • Devices could be prevented from charging wirelessly

I get what ur saying. I’m using a speck and 2 different UAG cases and 3 different wireless chargers still won’t charge. Only thing I have not done is charge without a case. But if that’s the only way to charge my 1300$ phone that’s is not going to be good. Apple needs to fix this issue .. or they did this on purpose to get people to buy a MagSafe wireless charger .. 🤔

This must be a bug. As I update my iPhone 12 pro max to IOS14.2 already and still has this issue. But surely the reboot step help to get the wireless charging function for temporary use. Because I also test the same on iPhone 12 which work perfectly well on all my wireless chargers. So Apple please fix to bug as it is kind of confusing and ignoring.

i thought I’d post another update. I bought the charger lobsterghost1 recommended and my phone has been charging great. I’m using the Apple silicone MagSafe case and don’t have any issues with the new charger. All of my old chargers (bought from Apple) wouldn’t consistently charge my phone, which sucks since I spent so much money on them.

I don’t know if this helps but this is DEFINITELY a wireless charging issues exclusively. In the video I watched it seemed to be the issue lies with the 12 Pro Max especially the gold phones. I have the 12 pro max in gold.

A couple of things I know for a fact. The older wired USB chargers can charge the 12 pro phone, so it only makes since that a wireless charger should also charge the phone.

Right now I am taking my 3rd party cord to the car to charge it “wired” while I am driving until this issue is resolved. Again I still take the stance that apple should sent 12 pro max users “comp” car and wireless chargers

Hey I think that's a common firmware bug of iPhone 12 pro max regardless any colour or capacity. I posted before and test all my old wireless chargers with my iPhone12 Pro Max (just in case anyone ask it is blue and. 256G). and iPhone 12 (Red and 128G). All those chargers (momax one even 3 years old with only 10W) work perfectly fine with my iPhone 12, but Pro Max it won't charge in any of my chargers after update to 14.2.1 until I got tips from this community to restart the iPhone. So now it is fine but the guy who suggest restart also mentioned it is only temporary solve the issue. We still have to wait for Apple to fix this in next update.

If all old chargers work with iPhone 12 I don't see why it can't work with 12 Pro max (we might have to suffer slow charging speed). I won't purchase anymore new charger just because such issue Apple should get it fix.

Your logic is missing something important. iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro Max are completely different sized phones. The charger on the back of iPhone 12 Pro Max aren't hitting the charging plate on the charger in the same location, especially if the charger is a stand, where the phone rests on it vertically. The most successful chargers will have dual charging plates as opposed to a single charging plate in them.
