iPhone 12 Pro Max not wirelessly charging

Received my iPhone 12 Pro Max today but it won't wirelessly charge on any of the three Q1 chargers I have. My XS Max and wife's X all work fine. Why is this? I have the Apple silicone case but with the case or without it still won't charge. Starts for a few seconds then the chargers flash a few times and it stops charging.

Have tried the following:

Erase Network Settings - Didn't work

Hard reset (Volume up / Volume down / hold power until Apple logo shows) - Didn't work

Seeing lots of similar posts on other forums. Perhaps the magnets are interfering and Apple just want you to get a Magsafe charger instead?

(Had to select iPhone 11 Pro Max for what device am I referring too as 12 Pro Max not listed)

Try a different power adapter - I bought a wireless charger and was having the same issues, not charging iPhone 12 Pro Max, EarPods and Apple Watch. So I switched the power adapter and used a ‘Anker’ brand Quick Charge 3.0 which solved the issue of the wireless charging for all three devices.

I just bought my 12 Pro Max on Friday (11/13) and last night (11/17), the wireless charging stopped working. I found a video on YouTube that indicates that turning the phone off and then back on will temporarily resolve the issue and that installing iOS 14.2 will resolve it. I tried turning it off and back on and it did start wirelessly charging after that. Installing iOS 14.2 now. In the "About this Update" document, it indicate that the 14.2 release does fix the following issue (among others):

    • Devices could be prevented from charging wirelessly

We had this issue on one of our chargers. I found a couple things which can cause this.

The new phones being Magsafe compatible likely put the charging plate on the back of iPhone 12 in a different position.

Many older chargers don't have higher wattage QC3.0 charging bricks

Many older chargers don't have dual charging plates

So, I replace the charger which didn't play well with our new phones and they are now charging perfectly. The new charger has dual plates AND an 18W QC3.0 brick.

Received my MagSafe charger today planning to use it in my car. Doesn’t work. Works fine plugged in inside the house so I know it’s not defective. Was wondering if the USB-C charger I have it plugged into isn’t powerful enough? I’ve had it a while so I don’t remember what the output is. Could this be an accessory compatibility issue or a software bug?

I find it completely frustrating that this problem wasn’t disclosed, nor overcome, after Apple releases the new 12 pro max phone. In addition to all the wireless charging issues, I have a new 2020 GMC truck with a wireless charger that is not working either and was working perfectly with the XS Max. We should not need all new chargers as Apple, and it’s development team, should be providing quick solutions to what appears to be a growing concern. Honestly, if my company were to release a new product with this type of issue, I would be a little embarrassed that we missed something this easy since wireless charging capabilities are something many of us have come to appreciate especially in places like our cars. I only hope there is a fix on the way as it’s a little frustrating to have a brand new car with what could become a useless feature.

I am having issues every night. At first it was 95%, then 96%, then today (Fri 25th Nov) it was down at 34% and had not charged all night apart from a 20 min blip when I first set it on the charger.

The charger is a wireless, Belkin Boost 7.5W from Apple store. Always worked with my Xs Max but not with 12 Pro Max.

My MagSafe animation no longer works for my Apple leather case either.

I’ve rebooted, hard reset and it still does not work and my iPhone is on iOS 14.2.1

Last night was annoying. If I had work today, my iPhone would have been at 34%.

I don’t feel this is a coil issue, it is an Apple Firmware issue. Can the Belkin coil position really be that far out?

Why have you changed the specs on wireless charging making most charges not compatible and now don’t supply the standard charger either!
my quad lock case is now useless after doing a great job with my XS

You must think when you ask "why have you" that you're addressing Apple on this forum? You're not. Apple isn't here on this user to user only forum.

Not speaking for Apple, but Apple cannot guarantee when they introduce a new design or feature it will be forever compatible with 3rd party accessories. There are literally thousands and thousands and thousands or 3rd party products out there. It's not Apple's responsibility to ensure their products work with someone else's products.
