when I shut down my mac the whole screen feels with a glitch of pink and black pixels

Have seen this at least 2 - 3 times when helping the users. In there cases - each had a piece of Cra*ware Antivirus from a certain Developer which purported their Cra*ware was compatible with Big Sur.

Long story short - If this applies here - Remove the AV ASAP and Only via the Developers Instructions

Are there any AntiVirus, Disk Cleaner, Optimizers, Defrag, VPNs etc installed which should be removed as per Developers Instructions. They are useless, unneeded, cause havoc and interfere with the normal operation of the OS and an even corrupt the OS requiring a Reinstallation. The Built-in Security of Big Sur is all that is required.

I had similar issue and I succeed to have it solved by following steps:

Go to the system settings and Screen, uncheck the True Tone and restart the MacBook.

You now may go back and tick in/activate the True Tone.

This action did solve my problem. The screen is now going black and shut down normally!

This might be related - have seen a similar issue some time ago the very pixilated screen when shutting down. In this persons case - the Issue was Resolved by Removing ( as per Developers Instructions ) the Antivirus Intego. In their case the C*^%ware had interfered with the OS to the point this screen pixilation.

Food for thought if AV Software, Disk Cleaners, Optimizers, Defrag software is installed.

I had the same issue after the Big Su 11.2 update. I turned off the true color and night shift, restarted and the screen is now okay. Thanks for tour help and this cool hack!

I purchased Macbook Air 2020 Retina today. When I shut down my mac, my screen firstly show some gray pixels. Is it same with your problem? I have added two photos about the problem. It is my first day with my mac but this problem is terrible experience for me. I don't know it is about the software. It is first day. First photo is going to shut down of mac. second photo is related with the screen before closing. Then it is closed.

I have the same problem!! My macbook though is older (2015) but this started happening since I upgraded to macOS Mojave! The macbook is much slower and freezes a lot of times. When that happens, my laptop turns grey and shuts down.

Have you seen my picture? Is it totally same? I just purchased the MacBook 10 hours ago. Also it is my first MacBook experience. I don't know what I should do.

This is happening to me too. My MacBook Air is brand new and once I upgraded to MacOS Big Sur, the pink and pixels appeared when shutting down. Please let me know if you find a fix!

Exactly the same here on new MacBook Air. Straight after big sur update getting the pink screen when shutting down. Has anyone found a solution yet?
