iPhone 12 Pro Max screen has yellow tint

I'll say this much, I think mine may not be so bad compared to some of the others I've now seen. I definitely notice a warmer tone but some have shown me an out right, yellowish appearance and True Tone is off. That is unacceptable.

I've seen it written in these forums, that Apple doesn't monitor or read them. If they don't, maybe they should start!

I hear you. And I’m sure plenty of people have done that already. But judging based off of the stories of experiences of people on here dealing with Apple Support, they don’t seem to be acknowledging that there is a problem.

Yes, done that. No response. Complained bitterly over the phone too. No response. No acceptance, no denial. “I’m not aware of that issue sir”. The tone has changed. Initially they knew it was an issue, more open about it. As the weeks go on they’ve pleaded ignorance of the fact. More time, less knowledge.

that sounds like a policy. That sounds like a briefing to tell the agents to just act ignorant. Because they all respond the same way now. You decide.

They ain’t gonna fix it. iPhone 13 will hail the most accurate display ever. Maybe they made it this way to boost iPhone 13 sales next year. Good knows.

Yes. But Piggledust (sorry, I believe I may have misspelled your username earlier in this thread)... how many replacements did you have to go through again? Was it just one. Mine is fairly white when True Tone is off... but I wouldn’t classify it as “ice white”.

Well, I guess this news means that Apple may not care...

Or perhaps, it means the vast majority don't notice or aren't unhappy with the color temperature on their iPhone screen. You do realize the number of individual posters complaining on this forum, in this thread are statistically insignificant in relation to the numbers of phones sold and in use worldwide.

You are making the same point in a different way. Apple don’t care, money talks, there aren’t enough voting with their wallets. Once upon a time apple wanted to be best technically; now they just want to be the most profitable. And they are, so keep doing what they are doing.

Not to mention it’s only a very few who will post their concerns.

But like Ford infamously did with dangerous brake fluid reservoirs, the exec has compared the cost of resolution to the cost of doing nothing and concluded its not worth bothering. IMO. And unlike Ford, they just lose some sales and kudos, not kill anyone.

And that’s my point. Many don’t care if it’s inaccurate if they like this years fashion shade.

But for professionals and like minded pedants it irks. But we are a minority.

What I don’t get lobster is what you are doing in this thread. You don’t see an issue so aren’t going to be offering solutions. Your view is valid of course, but it’s a difference between like and accuracy.

My view is that if they sell a product claiming high accuracy, it should be.

However, Ive concluded I not longer have True Tone and that this will never be fixed so I should bugger off too.

I'm here on this thread, to show that people can find the tone on their screen pleasant. If you're suggesting I can only be here if I'm unhappy, that would be censoring people and unless you own the forum, you can't do that of course.

People who come to this thread should be able to see views from people like yourself who have a valid concern to views from people like me who are perfectly fine with their iPhone screen.

Apple calls this shortcoming "a feature". Sharing that with other users is commiserating. Some may find a solution, though with it being a hardware issue, there's not going to be one now, we know.

You say commiserating does nothing. Neither does being a fanboi on a forum for people who have issues with Apple and this particular device. Feel free to go to those other sites instead to cheer the company on. I don't see your input being helpful, sorry.

Look at the title of this thread and then tell me you're responding to the point at hand? You're not. You love your yellow-tinted phone, good for you. The rest of us don't love it. We've complained to Apple, if you'd care to read the entire thread, and Apple doesn't care.

So you come here to say, that's too bad for you all, but I love my phone...is helpful, how exactly? It isn't.
