I bought my iPhone from the T-Mobile retailer, mine was manufactured during the 2nd week of December and I received it and saw that the contrast and the screen had a overall yellow tint. Instantly got annoyed about it, but kept thinking about it and decided to order one from Apple directly. I received it today and it seems like the new one is a lot better, the contrast and the grays and blacks look a lot darker. However, the white is still a bit warm, but is a very minor problem now. I think Apple might be fixing it slowly through the manufacturing process. I would recommend to exchange or return and purchase it again to get a different batch and try your luck

For the most part, I have changed my tune a bit on this because I do believe that none of us should have to accept this as it just being “it is what it is!” There is a clear difference in tone temperature between older iPhones (even OLED screens) and the iPhone 12 lineup, seemingly more so with the Pros. Even with auto brightness on, there should be no change in tone without True Tone being on. Furthermore, if one has different apple products, say, an iPad, MacBook, etc, switching from one screen to another may also bother the user.

I do have a tough time believing that this is all from hardware issues. That so many would be defective. I’m hoping it’s something within the software that can recalibrate and fix the problem. Maybe even an issue with the ambient sensor that controls True Tone is still activated despite True Tone being off.

I don’t know. But I’m kind of stuck now for I’m passed my return date and I traded in my iPhone 7 Plus. I also don’t know if I want to fight with Apple right now to get a new replacement, just to have the same thing occur. Because I will not settle for a refurb or repair one month into owning this phone. Disappointed Apple!

Again statistically insignificant when compared to the vast millions upon millions of phones in use today. Don't get me wrong however. I'm by no means suggesting you should love the warmth of the color of your screen. I think color perception is higher in some people. It may well bother you. And for many, they don't notice any difference, especially, if they don't have their new phone sitting next to their previous phone looking at the two screens side by side. But if it bothers, you can adjust the color of your screen as has been posted several times in this thread.

A couple comments about your first paragraph.

  1. No one here can fix anything. No one here works for Apple. Apple doesn't participate here. You say you're looking for a solution? Other than usiing settings to adjust your screen to the exact color hue you want, there is NO solution. That's why its been suggested over and over to tell Apple directly what you think about this by providing feedback through the feedback link which has been posted multiple times in this thread.
  2. Commiserating isn't exactly what this forum is for. This forum is a technical support forum for people to ask "how" questions about their iPhone. Saying you don't like the color of your screen isn't exactly a how question. Saying it over and over doesn't help you as no one here can change anything with the screens on iPhone, because as mentioned, no one here works for Apple, nor has anything to do with Apple and as has also been said, Apple doesn't participate here.
  3. Still, you can commiserate if you want. Just don't expect that to deliver anything other to make you feel better if commiserating makes your day.

I don't owe you any explanation to be honest. You're the one who used the word commiserate. I'm not the one who suggested you're here for that.

Do you believe that the only people who can post here are people who are unhappy with their phone? Sorry, but you can say you're not happy just as much as I can I am happy.

The title of the thread doesn't give you license to control anyone here. As I suggested, buy the forum, then you can tell me what I can say.

At the end of the day Holly_Dolly, expressing anger at me or complaining here isn't going to change the color of your screen one bit.

If it is this big a deal to you, if you're within the return period, return the phone for refund, then buy something else. Life is too short to let the color of your screen upset you so.

Firstly, I cannot believe it always comes down to this back and forth stuff on these forums. Say what you may and leave it at that. And if there are Apple Employees on here (as I was first labeled to be), then great. At least someone from Apple is reading these forums (not that it will change anything). Now to the issue at hand...

Yes, this is "Apple Support Communities"... however, the site address is "discussions.apple.com". Here in lies that most threads that have been started about a technical issue end up turning into "discussions" because a solution has not yet been found. And this particular one has become quite long because there has been no solution for quite some time. There have been many variances of how "yellow" the tone may be for different owners of the iPhone 12 lineup. It seems more predominantly, the "issue" exists within the Pro models. Some have described much yellower tones than others (as mine seems to be more faint than as described by other people) but a solution to this topic has not been reached due mainly to the fact that I don't believe one person has been able to say they have gotten their hands on an iPhone 12 model that is as bright white as their predecessors... as set from the factory, without True Tone on. If we can get at least one person to account for that, then maybe we are a step closer to a solution because then we'll know that there are devices with the so called correct tone settings that match the iPhone 12 predecessors. But will that actually be a solution? As cristianro stated, some may actually like the warmer tone! This "discussion" may go on for quite some time. LMAO!!
