iPhone 12 Pro Max touch screen not working

my screen stops responding and I have to close apps or lock phone and reopen! Even during streaming of Netflix or appleTV it freezes and I need to do the same. Sometimes I disconnect from WIFI it’ll work then freeze!!!

I’m having the same issue with my 12 pro max the right side of the screen doesn’t respond to touch. Especially, the o/p. I have to drive 3 hours to an apple store for my appointment. I’m so disappointed.

I have my iPhone 12 Pro Max on my bedside table. Nearly, every night when I want to look on the clock, I have to touch twice because it doesn’t work at first time.

It's a shame, I didn't have such problems with my iPhone XS..

SAME! I was trying to turn off my alarm this morning. It wouldn’t respond to my touch. So I thought I’d do a hard reset, it is no stuck on the power off screen yet won’t power off or change screens! It is brand new. I washed my hand thinking that would help, also wiped the screen. No results!!!! Just ruined my day... I needed it to map my way to Doctor appt!

i had a similar issue I did a full factory reset and set up iPhone as new, did not restore from my back up and the issue was gone. I had to manually download my apps as it’s something to do with the back up. Something is corrupted. Very timeous step but if you get a new phone and restore from old back you will just be duplicating the issue

My sister in law's Pro Max was having the problem, and I thought it was the screen protector, so I kept it out for it. Then after the latest update 14.3, that's when I started having the problem. Cannot answer calls, swiping is broken up, etc...I thought it was the screen protector but after fiddling with the buttons that sometimes fixed the problem, I realized it's actually the phone.

Please, if someone is lucky enough to reach the upper tier support and does that "connect-to-your-computer" thing...PLEASE post it here because there are simply too many of us reaching unhelpful "tech support" people and don't want to go to the Apple Store and risk Covid here in Los Angeles!

My screen is intermittently unresponsive: I'm not able to swipe up; some, not all, keys don't work when typing; it doesn't respond when someone is calling me and sometimes I lose the call because even when I'm pressing the green button, nothing happens; I found myself tapping, pressing, pounding the screen and finally came here to find that it's not washing my hands again or the screen, it's an Apple problem! Grrrr.

And as long as I'm here...whose idea was it, when I need a screen shot, to make me press one thing on the right side of my phone and another thing on the left side of my phone simultaneously or I just end up shutting it off repeatedly. I'm old. My fingers don't always work simultaneously. Grrrr again!!!

Same issue! I preordered and got one of the first shipments, I’ve changed screen protectors, cases, chargers. Nothing seems to fix it.

it’s quite frustrating when my I’m washing dishes, or don’t want to pick up the phone to type a message, website, etc. 🙄

Hello there, my wife has an iPhone 12 and she has the opposite problem, the phone works fine while on flat surfaces but it’s being unresponsive when she is playing a game on it and have it in her hands. It’s really weird and really annoying considering the price on this device

They were gonna replace the screen but they didn’t have any in stock so they gave me a new phone. But, he said,” good thing that I had apple care because it would have cost you $600 for the replacement phone if not! Which is ridiculous because it’s a new phone.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I'll see what they'll do here. I'm sure they'll say it's normal and there's nothing wrong with the phone. This happens a lot in Egypt, especially because we don't have official Apple stores here, just resellers and most of their guarantee is just a useless piece of paper.

I am having this issue with my Iphone 12 Pro Max as well. I think we have to accept that apple is a DYING BRAND. The gadgets have so many issues its ridiculous. Take for instance my 2018 Macbook Pro I've had to get the logic board fixed TWICE. My Imovie on my IMAC is faulty and glitchy ....and now this with the new phone. I should have just stuck with my iphone 8 plus because this is a huge inconvenience. SMH! This stuff cost way too much for these issues.

I had the same problem too. I called my phone carrier and they told me to tap the right volume button, tap the left volume button then press the power button until the apple icon shows up. It worked. I'm sure with everyone complaining there will be a software update, hopefully soon.

I had a similar issue which was so disappointing. did factory-reset myself, updated my phone, none of them worked then took my phone to Genius Bar.

They run the displace accuracy test two times.  My two tests were failed and the Genius Bar employees test weren't.

The diagnosis was that my fingernails were making contact with the screen and I've been advised to not use my nail!!! 

My nails are short and  the second test was with my finger with the shortest nail that one person can have. 

This is faulty and Apple should accept it instead of bringing these unreasonable excuses. 

I got another appointment and will ask them to admit it's faulty because I want to return this phone.

I’m have the same issue with my phone in the lower right corner and restarting seams to resolve it. Tell me who wants to restart their phone every time you delete an email...not me. Resetting and updating hasn’t resolved the issue. This is so frustrating. APPLE DO SOMETHING!
