Siri & Music

Siri won’t let me add songs to playlists without an Apple Music subscription. She says “You’ll need to update your Apple Music subscription to allow me to do that for you.”

It appears that Siri won't add a song from your Music library to one of your playlists. Siri responds with "You'll need to update your Apple Music subscription", and we're glad to help with this.


Use Siri to play music on iPhone - Apple Support -- With Apple Music, Siri knows what's included in your Music library. Your Music library is matched with the songs contained in Apple's Music library which lets Siri know what you have.
