Issue with rear glass iPhone 12 Pro cracking/ smashing easily

Strongest!?!?!?! The screen is apparently ceramic…but the back is standard grade glass, so apparently not so strong.

I have had Apple products going back years and years.

It is the iPhone12 Max Pro rear glass which is fragile, if we can keep to the thread then that’s great!

That is easy to answer - no it isn't.

1. maybe, they seem to be a common factor here, buy an Apple magsafe leather case
2. nope
3. Don't drop it even in a case
4. Don't put it in your jeans pocket

So disappoint!!! I have the iphone12 pro less than 2 month, the back cracking very easily when it drop from 2 feet high. I never expect an Apple product would cracking like this so easily. What am I gonna do ? I don't have apple care

This is crazy. I’ve had this phone 4 days and the back glass cracked with out any accident. Spoke with an Apple representative and they have not heard of this being a problem. Now I have to spend $$ to get it fix. I thought this new iPhone 12 max Pro had a new stronger glass and case.

I am just stating a fact - no drops and was in my case the entire time. The only thing I can think of it is large for my pocket and maybe bent or I bumped into something. Still trying to wrap my head around what happened. I understand you probably don’t believe me and don’t care. I just want other people to know of this issue before spending money on this phone. I don’t expect apple or Verizon to pay to fix based on my conversations. Had iPhones since beginning and always protected them the same as this phone - and no issues.

Thanks, We all understand. None of us will get a free phone as this would be a huge recall for iPhone 12 max. Our point is the phone has a weak point that I have never experienced before with any other Apple phone. We should make people aware before they spend money on this specific phone. This should not happen at this price point. I would not even want this same iPhone phone if I got a new one. My iPhone 7 was great.

I don’t think my phone was unique and had a weak point compared to other iPhone 12 max phones - the new glass on the back of the iPhone 12 max is not as strong as it should be if it is failing for a lot of people and they can’t clearly remember a specific event or minor and should not have broke. We all paid a lot for the phone. I bet this chain will grow to a huge number of recorded cases unless the issue is fixed. Like the comment below - broken in computer bag???? My back glass broke in my pocket with an OtterBox case on it. Do something apple.

Yes my iPhone 12 pro back glass cracked very easily last week. I took it to the authorised dealer and they said has to replace the phone and said the charge will be INR 65,000. I got a shock and quietly came back. Don’t know what to do.

Idk man..but apple ask me to exchange unit which they will not fix it but they will change to new unit..unfortunately,they ask me to pay IDR 12.000.000, it equals with USD 855.. so i choose to accept the fact the fact and enjoy it.lmao

My iPhone 12 pro max is in a pelican case, fell off my leg while I was sitting and shattered the back glass and camera section. I’ve never had a phone take such a short fall while protected and break this severely. The apple insurance won’t cover this issue.... so I’ve been paying for insurance for them to tell me they don’t cover this... interesting?! Maybe I should go with galaxy from now on.

We are all users just like you, why are you shouting at us? Personally I don't care which smartphone you buy, get the one that most meets your needs. If you buy from some other manufacturer and the glass breaks on that one post in their site.

The iPhone 12 glass back is much weaker than previous phones. I shouted when I noticed my glass cracked ... had in outer box and could not recall dropping it. I know 2 other people with same issue. Apple won’t do anything. Mine works fine but trade in value may be almost nothing.

sorry Debbie - I have been using iPhones since the the first model. The back glass cheapness is an issue for this model. Not sure why you are so defensive ... you must be paid by apple or feel good about adding more levels.
