that’s not true. mine cracked without being dropped

If you feel that is the case, make an appointment to have your phone examined by Apple.

They are trained to be able to tell the difference between a stress crack or manufacturing defect and damage due to impact, and stress cracks or defects do occasionally occur as they do with any other product that uses glass.

iPhone 12 maybe a month old in an otter box siting on the table not being touched and randomly the entire back of the phone shattered. Had a window guy here for an estimate and he watched it happen. $1200.00+ for a phone and another $80+ for an otter box that is supposedly indestructible to be sitting on the table not being touched to just shatter is unacceptable. The window guy couldn’t believe it and I’m sure nothing will be done about it. If it was dropped maybe I could understand but even so it’s in an otter box so it still shouldn’t break but to just shatter as it was sitting on the table is a problem. Apple you really need to do better. People work hard for their money and most use these phones for business and everyday life and don’t want to pay $200 or more to have the phone fixed especially when it was from no fault of their own. It’s a disgrace but I’m positive when I call they’ll tell me there is nothing they can do 🤬🤬

I am not asking anyone to judge the case, I am merely pointing out a fact of a problem between MY phone and MY case which resulted in phone damage and pointing out if anyone else notices there MagSafe case coming away from the phone to be extra careful so they don’t have the same problem as me. Nothing in life is perfect including EVERY iPhone and EVERY phone case.

Not a defect.

You dropped it, glass broke which can happen to any glass if it hits just right (or wrong, if you prefer.)

That's why many cases offer an explicit drop protection warranty; you'd need to contact Speck to see if theirs does.

You are correct, though, the back is not as strong as an iPhone X; it's much stronger.

But again, it is glass, and all glass can break if dropped and it lands just right (wrong).

Where is that page located? Comparison view? In a through purchase that is not seen. Apple Homepage > iPhone 12 Pro > Buy

Regardless, we have identified the back glass is inferior to the front glass and it’s breaking easily which is why we have all posted. Advertising speaks and facts speak louder. Other than helpful Apple fans posting, the fact is, everyone posting here has a similar story and we would like to be heard by Apple. Your opinion on what you think about our situation, glass being breakable(really? We know it’s glass)or what we did is not helpful. Every one of us took the time to post here because something doesn’t add up.

Me! I’ve had my phone less than 30 days, it’s had an otterbox on it before I even left the store with it! I noticed a crack on my camera part, took my case off and the whole back was cracked! I’ve never even dropped it! I’m very upset about this considering I just put a $70 screen cover on it. I refuse to be out $200 (screen cover and repair) on a phone I have had less than 30 days.
