safari 14.0.1 under Mojave is blocking dialogs

It looks like the 14.0.3 update finally fixed this bug:

It’s broken in Mojave. Don’t know if Apple will fix it. It works in other browsers, but if you want to keep using Safari, I downloaded the Mojave installer from the App Store and ran it. Then do system upgrades for everything BUT Safari 14.0.1 and you’re all set. If you see a newer Safari for Mojave after that, you can try it again.

I agree. I reinstalled Mojave to 10.14.6 and made sure no Safari updates. All is now fine.

I did the same. Dont update Safari

A workaround is to drag and drop the gmail attachment.

Is the problem still there in Safari 14.0.2 Beta 2?

I just installed the 14.0.2 beta and the problem is still there. Im guessing this could be one of the security or supplemental updates.

You need Safari 12.0.1. To get that you need to reinstall Mojave and then do any security updates but not Safari 14 or the Supplemental update that also contains safari 14.

Looks like Safari 14.0.2 is out! Has anyone updated to see if this bug is fixed? I'm now a bit more cautious about installing Safari updates...

Thanks. It's a pain to do it that way, but it works! Hopefully, they'll fix this. I believe the problem may be related to the fact that Safari 14 no longer has the Flash plug-in, because Adobe is changing how they distribute it on January 1.

I have the same problem - dialog box attach (from computer) on Yahoo mail in Safari 14.0.1 (OS Mojave) (can't upgrade to Catalina or Big Sur b/c of Quickbooks 2016 - doesn't work.

If, however, I go to Chrome browser - I get drop down dialog box and can attach file as usual.

Any fixes - besides reinstalling Mojave & don't update Safari? Shouldn't Apple be doing this?

MAJOR workflow productivity issue - Apple please address ASAP

Tried Safe mode.

Attach files didn't work.

Went back to normal after reboot.

Attach files still did not work.

Dialog box not appearing.

it works but makes for a very confusing email.

files should be referenced separately, not mixed with text communication.
