Hello again,

Yes, the Canon (PIXMA) MG5350 is mentioned in the article About AirPrint - Apple Support as a printer supporting the driverless AirPrint technology. This means that the printer is compatible with macOS (Big Sur).

Regarding the firmware, please have a look at https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/fax__multifunctionals/inkjet/pixma_mg_series/pixma_mg5350.html?type=firmware . There is an AirPrint Firmware Updater (Mac) for MG5300 series Ver.1.2b (19 September 2017). Unless already installed, please note the updating details.

Also see the Manual for how to use AirPrint for Mac.

It may not be a bad idea to reset the printing system (steps in the following article) before you add the printer.

Information about how to add the printer can be found here:

It should not be too difficult to make this work. Do you have an existing Wi-Fi network with a router? If so, make sure that the printer and the Mac computer are connected to the same network. Do not hesitate to post back in case of additional questions.

Good luck!

Thanks a lot!

Adding the ICA driver to the firewall authorized apps was exactly what I needed to get rid of the "Not authorized to open IJScanner15s.app" message, and be able to use my Pixma MX490 scanner!

Based on the version number, release date, and size/name of the file, it appears that the 10.15 and 11.1 Canon install versions are one in the same. Also, the release notes for the drivers state that the installer should work for multiple versions, as below.

Nothing in the other posts really apply, as the software can't be removed (was never installed), and the reset process can't be applied without the printer existing first.

"I did talk to Canon support and because of the new M1 chip they have to write a new driver. It will be release in a few days so hold on. I did get an advanced release and it works with my Mac mini M1 chip."

What was the specific error message you got with the bunk drivers?

Any chance you can help a fellow printerless fella get the advance copy to get rolling again?

My problem is solved, I can print now. I checked at Canon site whether there may be a more recent driver for my LBP3010 - and there it was! Paradoxically dated 4. Dec which was the date when I downloaded its previous version (10.0.2) that could not be installed on Big Sur. It seems I just missed the actual version (10.0.3) then. Thanks all for the effort!
