I have installed Big Sur. Now I cannot use or download our Canon printer driver......
Hello again,
Yes, the Canon (PIXMA) MG5350 is mentioned in the article About AirPrint - Apple Support as a printer supporting the driverless AirPrint technology. This means that the printer is compatible with macOS (Big Sur).
Regarding the firmware, please have a look at https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/fax__multifunctionals/inkjet/pixma_mg_series/pixma_mg5350.html?type=firmware . There is an AirPrint Firmware Updater (Mac) for MG5300 series Ver.1.2b (19 September 2017). Unless already installed, please note the updating details.
Also see the Manual for how to use AirPrint for Mac.
It may not be a bad idea to reset the printing system (steps in the following article) before you add the printer.

Information about how to add the printer can be found here:
Add a printer on Mac - Apple Support
It should not be too difficult to make this work. Do you have an existing Wi-Fi network with a router? If so, make sure that the printer and the Mac computer are connected to the same network. Do not hesitate to post back in case of additional questions.
Good luck!
I reset everything and reinstalled. I dont think my printer the TS8250 is supported anymore with Big Sur. If you change the operating system to Big Sur on canon driver download - a message comes up with not supported. So any ideas on how to get to work ?? I downloaded for an older driver version of Mac software which was successful but it prints blank pages.
The networked (wired/wireless) Canon TS8250 device is supported by the built-in Apple AirPrint driver. With the device powered and networked, select your printer in the Printers & Scanners panel, Reset the printing system, and instead of Canon drivers, choose AirPrint as the device.
Thanks Viking OSX, I managed to find update on Canon site and went smoothly, not before much head scratching cable fumbling and frustrating grunts of course. Just glad to hear my printer purring happily and no longer spitting out black pages :-)
Thank you, at first I could see the air print option so I rebooted everything including switching the printer off from power for a while. I started up took a deep breath, reset the printer on my Mac. Added the printer and the Secure Air print/Air print option came up ....hooray. However for some reason, secure air print printed blank pages and so I repeated and just used air print and it worked. Thanks so much. Please advice by not choosing secure air print what does that mean?
I tried the same and it doesn’t let you . I downloaded the previous versions but apparently according vikingOSX my printer didn’t need driver as it has AirPrint. . Restart your printer settings on your Mac and reinstall the printer . If it has the secure air print option it will work or try downloaded a version of driver with a previous version of your Mac .
I had the same problem. I have 2 different canon printers. Drivers for both were listed as good for Big Sur. One of them installed no problem. The other one kept getting the same message as you. After searching around the web, somebody suggested getting the driver from Canon UK, sure enough, it worked perfectly and painless. CanonUSA has **** installer packages for some of their printers.

Hello 89mcg78niu,
The Canon MG5320 is also an AirPrint model, and my reply to MrRMP above (about an MG5350) applies to your printer as well, so you may want to have a look at that message for details.
Canon's Apple AirPrint User Guide:
https://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer_products/apple_airprint_guide/
Canon U.S.A. links:
Please note that drivers are not available for Big Sur. You should instead choose to use AirPrint. AirPrint does not require separate drivers. Use a network connection (Wi-Fi).
The US Drivers still do not work as of this morning: 12/23/20. But I was able to get the printer working by going to Canon's European site and downloading the driver, then re-adding the printer. Try it. https://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer_products/products/printers/laser/i-sensys_lbp6230dw.html?type=drivers&language=en&os=macos%2011.0%20(big%20sur)
This has helped with the printer part of our MG7120 multifunction printer. Scanner part isn't working yet...
I can print to that printer now. However, opening the scanner gives error messages:
At some times, the error number is a different negative numbers (-99xx), but I did not write that down...
After capturing the information above, I tried to update the scanner software. I download the latest scanner software (misu-mac-2_3_8-ea21_3misu-mac-2_3_8-ea21_3) from the Canon website. The release notes suggest that it's compatible with Big Sur 11.0, and that's what's installed on this Mac. Resetting the printing system again, and re-creating the printer did not address this scanner issue. Same error messages as in the screen shot above.
Any suggestions for how to resolve the scanner issue?
Just download fresh copies of the correct driver software from your local Canon Support website.
In the case of the ICA Driver (scanner driver) for my PIXMA printer, Big Sur was added as a supported OS in early October 2020.
When on the website you may need to manually select Catalina (10.14) even though you are looking for Big Sur (11.0) drivers as the Canon website does a poor job detecting Big Sur.
Hello,
I have been looking all over online for a solution to this same problem!
As I was about to give in a probably buy a whole new printer, I started looking up printers compaptible with Mac Os Big Sur and came upon a site that listed a bunch of different printers. When I clicked Canon printers it was actually the EUROPEAN version of the ImageClass series called iSensys. Same printer just a different So I googled the ISensys Canon site and found the driver here. Same picture as the Canon ImageClass Mf229dw series just different model name. It worked for me!
Please try this or a similar European version of your printer driver.
Good luck!
I was having this problem too and finally found a solution! You can download the driver software compatible with Yosemite and use it as the Driver while using Big Sur.
I did this for my Canon MP480 and it worked, so hopefully this works for other people too! I have a 2017 MacBook Pro if that helps at all.
THANK YOU! The Gutenprint thing helped me with my Canon MP630!
