Logitech MX Master 3

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased the new M1 MacBook Pro. My Logitech MX Master 3 mouse is stuttering quite a bit on both bluetooth and USB connectivity options. It doesn't do this at all with my Windows 10 desktop or 12" Macbook running Big Sur. If anyone else knows how to fix it please help.

Thanks

Hi everyone,

I am having the same awful experience with this mouse. It not only stutters, it also makes any other device connected via bluetooth virtually unusable (e.g. AirPods disconnecting every few minutes and getting stuck while trying to reconnect).

Also, I made the stupid move of purchasing the "Mac" version without realizing that it's identical in features to the PC version, but it does not have a USB dongle in it, so I'm stuck with bluetooth unless I purchase a dongle separately -.-

After trying many possible solutions I read in this thread and around the magic world of the Internet, I thought I could directly attribute responsibility to something related to the mouse, not the Mac's bluetooth.

Also, my wife uses a Logitech triathlon mouse and it had the exact same problems of my MX master 3, pointer stuttering badly and affected other bluetooth connections, so it's not about the specific mouse.

I think the problem may well be the Logitech Options software.

After reading the post by shahin787 I tried uninstalling it completely but instead of reinstalling it, I tried just using the Mac mini built in drivers and I have not reinstalled it: pointer is smooth now and no BT disconnections. I am also keeping USB 3 devices (a hard drive and a webcam) always connected and I have had zero issues so far, so I don't think this is about interference.

It's a shame because this means I cannot change the mouse settings as I'd like to, but at least I can use it without going crazy every time it gets stuck and affects every other device connecting to the Mac via BT :)

I have the same issue with an Mx Master 3 mouse on m1 Mac mini - Big Sur.

Stuttering on both Bluetooth and USB, even with the USB plugged directly into the Mac mini rather than through a hub.

They're both bad, but on balance Bluetooth isn't as bad.

But this is a real problem regardless, makes detail work like photo editing a nightmare. Hoping for a logitech or Apple update.

Did you ever get a reply from Logitech? I am currently writing their support myself. It looks like the latest Big Sur update was supposed to fix the bluetooth issues that many devices had with Big Sur, but I picked up one of these mice and I am having the same issues noted here. Logitech also shows on their website that Logitech Options is now fully compatible with Big Sur, but that doesn't seem to have resolved my issues after making sure I'm running the most current version either.

I want to love this mouse, but it certainly doesn't love me. I'll be posting my full write-up as a new post at the end of this convo.

I'm experiencing the same.

When the mouse is connected with a cable all my other BT devices works smoothly.

Once I connect the mouse via BT, every now and then the mouse looses connection that somehow makes other devices loose connection as well.

The BT headphones start stuttering, the BT keyboard is either not responsive or stuck on a key.

This lasts for about a minute, then everything reconnects and works again.

I already uninstalled the Logitech Options software but shortly after a restart I experienced the same behavior.

good mornig.

I have the same issue... actually connecting mx3whn I opened the mac mini m1 for the first time was impossible. I had to connect an old usb mouse in order to boot.. secondary i paired mx 3 with bluetooth, and ofcourse there is lug. Even ussing the reciever initially it looked like working perfectly but after couple of minitutes i had to deal with the same issue.

I also have an issue with MX Master 3 for Mac on MBP 13'' M1 on Big Sur. When connecting via Bluetooth for the first time for some reason system recognised it as a keyboard but when I skipped 'button next to shift press' test it started working. The problem is that it lags and is very imprecise. Almost completely unusable. The same mouse works well via Bluetooth on a Dell laptop with Windows 10. Hopefully Apple will fix this with a patch? Is there a workaround? I have email Logitech support (no response yet) as well as arranged for a call from Apple Support. Maybe I will learn something.

I wonder if anyone experienced something similar:

MX Master 3 for Mac (in my case on MacBook Pro 13 M1) works really bad, very imprecise and jumps / stutters quite often.

However I noticed that it is stuttering even more right at the moment I close a Finder window or another app (so I am assuming M1 is doing more operations). Mouse cursor jumps like crazy for a bout 1 second after I close a window. For some reason this is the worst when opening / closing 'System Preferences' window... BT menu shows my mouse operating at -41dBm.

This annoys the heck out of me. Apple is moving into all wireless technology, offering 500USD wireless headphones but sells Macs where wireless technology is simply awful...

I really hope this is fixable with an update and does not require returning my laptop as other that this BT issue it is pretty sweet. This is a deal breaker though.
