Mac Mini M1 - Bluetooth Drops & Wake Thunderbolt Display

I am also having a similar problem, and wanted to add my details. I don't know if Apple pays attention to this or not, but here goes.

With a default configuration of Energy Saver and Screen Saver, my Mac mini M1 will sometimes, and quite frequently, go to sleep and not wake up when using the Magic Keyboard and Trackpad via Bluetooth. I've seen versions of this where:

• The screen simply will not wake and displays black.
• The screensaver is on or comes on, but there is no way to bring up a login prompt. I can see the mouse cursor moving, but nothing is responsive

In these cases, I've tried to plug my keyboard and trackpad into the Mac mini directly (instead of Bluetooth), and this has no effect. The only way I've been able to recover it is by pressing the power button on the Mac, which seems to sometimes wake it up. My wife had to actually turn it off once to get it back.

System details:

• Mac mini M1 8GB
• Using Caldigit TS3 Dock for the display connection. USB-C/Thunderbolt over to the dock, and then display port to the monitor. Firmware is updated with Firmware version 44.1
• Dell P2715Q Display
• USB webcam is coming through the dock (no issues to report)
• USB microphone is coming through the dock (no issues to report)

Thank you for your suggestion. I may try that even though its not ideal. There is also a USB-C to DP cable you can get, which is another possibility. Still, I'd like to get it working with the cal digit, but I'm not sure its their fault though, since the screen does come up.

Mulling whether to do it. Lot's of inconvenience for what only happens once in a while. Maybe they'll still come out with a fix? No Apple Store close by unfortunately.

I have a similar problem, on login page, sometimes when I hit keyboard key it automatically jump out a few characters and cannot login, i have to hit power button to restart. this happens every 3-4 days.

You are not alone. Also experiencing bluetooth dropouts on Mini M1 512GB with Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad. Also experiencing the issue where it doesn't wake.

I should note that both the mouse and keyboard are wired versions.

Yeah you need to learn what devices and accessories you’re using , otherwise you’re just confusing people even more

Sorry my mistake too, I did not read your second post Ted . So with Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter do you get all the displays ports working with the m1 (USB, Ethernet, Webcam,... ) ?

I have a new MBP M1 2TB 16GB and experienced exactly the same. Dropped Bluetooth mouse and keyboard and screen 5K thunderbolt does not wake up. Really annoying. Has apple come with any solutions?

Seems to have fixed mine - "so far - fingers crossed."

Are you saying that your Bluetooth works fine now?

Yes mine seems to be okay right now. If it starts up again I will post something.

Started doing it s as again - crap.

Mine is an online order. Do I have to go without it as part of the exchange as it would have to be mailed back.
