i would say you should call apple sales support , to start the return process. They’ll send you a return label . Depending if your city has covid-19 restrictions, normally you can return it back to any Apple store even if it’s an online order . That way you get your refund faster.

Mulling whether to do it. Lot's of inconvenience for what only happens once in a while. Maybe they'll still come out with a fix? No Apple Store close by unfortunately.

I have a similar problem, on login page, sometimes when I hit keyboard key it automatically jump out a few characters and cannot login, i have to hit power button to restart. this happens every 3-4 days.

I use a wired keyboard and a bt mouse and have the same issues. I've been able to get the screen back by unlugging the monitor cable from the mini and plugging it back in. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. What's weird is that if I unplug it and flip the cable over, it's worked every time. I took it into Apple and they think it's an OS bug and will get fixed eventually.

I've been experiencing the same with my mouse losing connection, I haven't been able to find a fix, hoping Apple sends out a fix soon, its very frustrating. To get around the display issue, I set my Mac mini to never put the display to sleep and then set the screen saver to come on after a set amount of time.

(UPDATE) Hey gang. I bought a cheap $100 HDMI monitor plugging directly into the Mini's (M1) HDMI port and have had zero issues so far with waking it waking up. I currently have it set to 15 minutes till it goes to sleep. Just puting it out there.

You are not alone. Also experiencing bluetooth dropouts on Mini M1 512GB with Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad. Also experiencing the issue where it doesn't wake.

I should note that both the mouse and keyboard are wired versions.

I think it may be related to Thunderbolt cable for display.

Since switching over to HDMI to connect my monitor I no longer have an issue.

WHY are you using a Thunderbolt to mini DisplayPort adapter??? What you need is the Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter.

Yeah you need to learn what devices and accessories you’re using , otherwise you’re just confusing people even more

Sorry my mistake too, I did not read your second post Ted . So with Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter do you get all the displays ports working with the m1 (USB, Ethernet, Webcam,... ) ?

If you have a wired ethernet connection, turning OFF the WiFi solves all the problems. Of course it should not be the right solution but its the workaround I have found to continue doing my work.

Yes. Same here. Was using USB-C to DP that came with my LG 4K monitor. As a last resort tried using HDMI cable that came with the monitor and haven't had a problem since (fingers crossed).
