certain safari favorites icons gone

after transferring from an iphone 6s to a 12 pro max, four of the icon images for my favorites homepage in safari are gone in favor of being the default grey with the letter their names start with. opening them restores the icons temporarily (though this only began happening today), but after closing and opening safari they're broken again.

This has been a problem since Apple unrolled Safari 14. I just updated my mac book to Big Sur and one now has the abilities to have Top Sites again which had been deleted with Safari 14. It still is not working properly. however with regards to my favorite and favorites bar, which is where I stored needed websites that I need to access. Like employer page sign in etc. Although this seems like an improvement, Apple has made a mess of things and I am not sure if they are conginesent of what they have done or have a fix. Big Sur seems like a baby step. All I want to know is how do I get my favorite sites from iPhone 11 that were once on my mac book back? Apple would you please address this so that my iphone and computer work in concert as these had once successfully done. This was my most pressing need or why bother with apple products, I can go back to the IBM platform.
