Do I need to subscribe to Apple Music to use iTunes Match?

Simple question. I have a big library (c.80,000 songs) on my 2019 iMac and I'm subscribed to iTunes Match but not Apple Music (I'm not really interested enough in it to subscribe). Match has been working fine however since the Big Sur upgrade the matching service isn't working. It just hangs indefinitely. So my question is, have I missed something, and do I have to be subscribed to AM to be able to use the Match service?

iMac, macOS 10.12

Hi,

You can continue to use iTunes Match without subscribing to Apple Music. There has been no change in functionality between iTunes and the new music app.

Match has worked for me as expected on Catalina and Big Sur. I suggest that you try signing out of your account, close then reopen music app and then sign back in.
