Samsung Portable SSD software on my new MacBook Air M1 doesn't recognize my portable SSD T7 whatsoever. Anyone with an M1 device encounter the same issue? Should I contact Apple or Samsung for a solution? How do I file a request with Samsung? Their website navigation system is confusing.

I had the same issue. This is not a Samsung issue, its a Big Sur issue. The first time you are to install the software it prompts you to go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and under the General tab you are to find a Notification under the "Allow apps downloaded from:" section. If you miss that at the first installation it will never appear again unless you switch macOs in recovery mode and disable kernel extensions blocking. Unistall the Samsung Portable SSD utility using the script inside the Application contents. Follow the guidelines in the medium article to disable the feature mentioned above. Then reinstall the Samsung Portable SSD utility and you will get the notification saying the extension has been blocked. Click on go to Security & Privacy settings and under The General tab you will see the text I described earlier. Unlock the settings and click on details. Tick on Samsung Electronics close the details window and restart your Mac as prompted. Then, remove your Samsung Portable SSD and open the Samsung Portable SSD utility. Connect your SSD press refresh and you should be fine. Lastly, reboot to recovery mode and enable the kernel extensions blocking feature.

Well since the setting is "allow user to etc" I dont think its harmful. Because that means the user always need to give permission in the security settings of macOS. Furthermore, im not afraid of samsung "thrashing" Apple users in a harmful way.
But im no expert, if there is any IT or Apple expert who wants to add to this I would appreciate that too!
I attempted to attach my Samsung T7 SSD and ran into the same problem. Hopefully the problem will be resolve soon.

Sounds positive. Can I ask, how did you find out about this update? The app on my intel machine shows no update being available, and I'm unable to find any information in an online search.
Followed the instructions and seeing the same results. "DISCONNECTED No Samsung portable SSD is connected." I'm using it as a Time Machine back up and that is working fine.
It works better on windows because Microsoft and Samsung works together. That’s why.
