iPhone 12 Pro Max — poor battery life

Batteries can be charged any time for as long as you like. It's especially useful overnight because not many users take their phone to bed.

Charge the battery when not in use. You can not overcharge it.

I am in the UK, bought the 12 pro max 128gb 2 days ago and i just cannot understand how awful the battery is . Even without a single call, the battery is running out pretty fast. Is this normal for a brand new phone (flagship) fully charged?

I charge my phone at night and wake up with only half charge replenished. Example: I plugged my phone in at 10:45 pm last night and it only charged to about 30% by 6:15 am so I’ve kept it charging and now at nearly 9am it’s just above 50%.

I checked my charger and made sure it’s plugged in. It can charge my brother’s iPhone completely in about an hour or less.

I disagree- the optimization charging prevents your phone from charging until you need to use it so unless that’s off, plugging it in does nothing.

Additionally, my mother is obsessed with plugging in her phone and charging to 100% all the time. Anything less than 90% means she needs to charge. Out of my entire family and friends who use iPhones, she’s had more problems with hers and has had to buy more phones due to bad battery.

Same here, I changed my old phone hopping to get better battery life. I bought iPhone 12 Pro Max a week ago and I had to charge 3 times my phone in 24 horas. Furthermore, If I am using it gets too hot, same when is charging. I am really disappointed. Planing to take my phone to iPhone

That's why Apple has an "Optimized Battery Charging" feature.

FWIW, I've kept my past phones charged to 100% as much of the time as possible and have never seen a drop in "battery health" until the phone was over 1.5 years old.

That only tells you what the app percentage is of 100% used your battery. If you open safari for 85% of the time for 2 hours it will show 85%. This does not tell us what we need to know.

What we need to know is the rate an app uses the battery.

Not a percent of battery usage by app.

Does not matter if safari was used 100% of 100% and your phone ‘s battery was fully consumed in 5 hours. It does not answer what you seek. You want to know, is the rate at which any active or non-active app is consuming the battery.

Next step is someone above our pay-grade figures out how to lower that rate.

I also own an iPhone 12 Pro Max and the battery life sucks. It drains even in standby mode. I went to sleep at 10pm and left 40% battery life on my device, woke up at 7:30am to a dead phone. All my other Apple phones would display near the same percentage of charge left when I awoke the next morning. Geez I hate this.

If I have sufficient charge I won’t charge overnight. Also when I checked what used my battery life between the hours I was not active on my device I saw nothing. Point to note I saw Siri for a shot period between 12am and 1am. But nothing else.

It is hilarious to see some support answers where it says, Switch off this, disable that, reduce that, use this, charge slowly/fast/80% etc., this reminds me of the Windows PC era, in order to use this new iPhone makes me a nerd of some kind. Then they say AI is going to make your life great, wonder why AI cant just do all this advice and just "Manage my battery by knowing my usage"

I am so unhappy with my iPhone 12 max. I too have battery issues. I can have a full 100% battery and not use my phone. Within hours the battery is almost red. I don't even want this phone. I wish I could return it to Apple. This is the first time (I have all Apple products from iPad to laptop to watch) that I am really disappointed with my product. These phones aren't cheap as you know and Apple needs to make this right.
