iPhone 12 Pro Max Bluetooth Issues

Hello,

I am having Bluetooth connection issues with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I could not been able to connect my iPhone to my headphones. (Denon AH-GC30). My iPhone does not see my headphones. Below what i did before asking this question.

I checked my headphones with my iPhone 7 plus - It works.

I checked my headphones with my Macbook Pro - It works.

Then i checked Bluetooth versions - both iPhone 12 Pro Max and my Headphones support version 5.

Lastly - i restarted my iPhone, updated to last version of iOS, reset network settings, but Bluetooth of my iPhone Does not see my Headphones.

What is wrong with it? Why such expensive phone, do not see my headphones, but my old iPhone does? Both have the same iOS 14.2.1.

(P.S. - could not select iPhone 12 Pro Max in device field, it does not exists here)

I cannot connect my 12 Pro Max to my cars Bluetooth (hands free calling only). It’s been driving me crazy.

I also have an issue with the echo auto. The phone keeps thinking it’s a pair of headphones instead of a Bluetooth speaker and keeps turning down the volume after a certain period of time.

It’s so annoying and I’ve been back and forth with Apple support and their engineers and they basically told me to contact Amazon—even though it works fine on my XS Max and 6s+.

This is so annoying and needs to be addressed immediately. When I’m driving this is a safety hazard.

I don't understand why you got so hostile with your reply. No need to be insecure or whatever is going on there. I have a iPhone 12 pm and s21u and used the current galaxy to reference prior comments suggesting it was third party vendors/oems at fault and not necessarily Apple. If new Bluetooth flaships can handle the Bluetooth then I expect my thousand dollar plus iPhone to as well. I'm not asking much. It's awful that I have to carry another phone for this reason. Also I cannot believe that it's been so many months and still no resolution. This is why I find this is a huge dissapointment for apple.

Just to add my 12 Pro is having the issue where my plantronics headset works fine in the house and soon as I go into either of our cars the plantronics disconnects and reconnects every minute or so. Sometimes it just switches to the car's bluetooth and everyone in the car can here it. Sometimes it just goes back to the internal phone speaker and then back to the headset. I've tried various resets. It obviously can't handle having 2 devices connected to it. I also had a Galaxy s10 with the same headset and cars and never had a problem. I upgraded to the 12 Pro a couple of months ago and am regretting this part of the new phone.

If you still have your old iPhone, delete any Bluetooth devices from it. I was unable to connect with Bluetooth devices on my new iPhone 12Pro. Someone suggested deleting devices from your old iPhone. My old iPhone 7 was sitting dead in a drawer, so it seemed unlikely that it could affect my new phone. However, I plugged it in, deleted all Bluetooth devices, and thankfully that solved my problem. If anyone has their old iPhone, it’s worth a try. Good luck!

Read my post carefully: I was referring to registered devices and network settings on my older iPhone (switched from 11 Pro to 12 Pro). Also, who are the “we” you are referring to?! It may not be applicable to you if you are not switching from an older iPhone, but may very well apply to others. I actually had the idea by reading one of the older comments in this thread. So do not generalize your case to everyone!!

I had the same issue on my new iPhone 12 Pro Max with latest iOS (11/03/2021)

I also had to Unpair / "Forget" my Headphones on two other devices that my headphones were paired to (a Dell laptop & my old iPhone XS)

Once I "Forget" the pairing on both devices - they appeared in my new phone.

I could then add them back / pair them on the laptop etc & it all NOW co-exists BUT needed to be on the iPhone 12 Pro FIRST before being paired on anything else

Welcome to the club. Apple had a defect Bluetooth installed in the unit and everyone is pretending it’s ok. The obviously only tweaked the units for flawless integration with apple beats only devices and that’s why more of the sheep in our community don’t even bother since most are heavily integrated within the hardware ecosystem as well. Not my old Android phones having better Bluetooth connectivity then this pro max 12

That’s a bunch of BS, third-party my *** because my android phones all can still connect to my car audio perfectly with no trouble but my iPhone Pro 12 max must manually connect every time and it’s always hit or miss sometimes it will sometimes it won’t absolute trash. Mind you I’ve done everything everyone else has done or suggested. This is not a third-party issue this is an apple issue

I am new to Apple. After 13 years with Android a friend gave me his old (but pristine) iphone 6s. I stuck a battery and docking socket into it and presto. I was impressed so I bought a 12 pro max. Total pain in the neck. For reliability and consistency the 6s smokes the $1200 PM. Bluetooth has been a total nightmare. Shame on Apple for releasing such a loser.

Same issues as everyone else - iPhone 12 Pro connects to hands free for 2 mins then drops out and won’t reconnect. Tried everything and getting so frustrated with the Bullsh*t answer from Apple that it’s an update issue - get real Apple. We have all paid a lot of money for the phone - issues like this should not happen. Not impressed with how Apple are handling this to be honest. **** poor

How about restoring the iPhone and not loading your backup? (at least for testing purposes) By some of the comments here, it seems that some of the problem is a corruption/artifact in the Bluetooth profile on the iPhone, which erasing and starting from scratch should resolve (if its not a hardware fault). BTW, two 12 Pros in the house here, and no such Bluetooth problems since acquiring them.

do you have your 12 pro’s since launch?
I think it’s a hardware issue with the first batch. My second iPhone 12 pro have none of this bluetooth issues, but my launch iPhone 12 pro will have

Yes, a day 1 order for a 12 Pro and then later a day 1 order of a 12 Pro Max, both delivered a week from order.

Some of the comments in here imply that removing the Bluetooth profile of the device from the old iPhone helped, which to me seems to suggest some sort of artifact left in the backup loaded onto the new iPhone. Restoring as new should confirm that, not that that's a pleasant solution.
