iPhone 12 Pro Max Bluetooth Issues

Hello,

I am having Bluetooth connection issues with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I could not been able to connect my iPhone to my headphones. (Denon AH-GC30). My iPhone does not see my headphones. Below what i did before asking this question.

I checked my headphones with my iPhone 7 plus - It works.

I checked my headphones with my Macbook Pro - It works.

Then i checked Bluetooth versions - both iPhone 12 Pro Max and my Headphones support version 5.

Lastly - i restarted my iPhone, updated to last version of iOS, reset network settings, but Bluetooth of my iPhone Does not see my Headphones.

What is wrong with it? Why such expensive phone, do not see my headphones, but my old iPhone does? Both have the same iOS 14.2.1.

(P.S. - could not select iPhone 12 Pro Max in device field, it does not exists here)

I cannot connect my 12 Pro Max to my cars Bluetooth (hands free calling only). It’s been driving me crazy.

I also have an issue with the echo auto. The phone keeps thinking it’s a pair of headphones instead of a Bluetooth speaker and keeps turning down the volume after a certain period of time.

It’s so annoying and I’ve been back and forth with Apple support and their engineers and they basically told me to contact Amazon—even though it works fine on my XS Max and 6s+.

This is so annoying and needs to be addressed immediately. When I’m driving this is a safety hazard.

From trying several different things I found that it has to do with the wireless transfer from an old phone.

I was using an iPhone XS Max. I moved to an iPhone 12 Pro. I performed the wireless transfer and the first thing it did after the transfer completed, restarted, and got back to the home screen was several popups in a row saying it could not connect to bluetooth devices, and instead of the names it was their MAC addresses. Some things connect fine and others cannot even be seen by the phone.

I performed a reset and set it up as a new phone, and all of my bluetooth devices could be seen. I reset the phone again, and this time restored from a backup and the problem was back. I have had iPhones for way too long and have way too many apps to wipe the device and set it up as a new phone. Apple needs to fix this with an update to iOS.

had the same problem today with my brand new 12 PM. THANK YOU to whoever suggested downloading the app for my headphones brand (sennheisers), it's the only way i was able to connect after trying every other solution on this thread. it's bad enough they don't give wired headphones with brand new iphones anymore but to make connecting to the bluetooth so difficult is a joke, why should anyone have to download an app?! that's just silly.

The bluetooth had no problem detecting beats headphones sooo it's clearly a ploy to get you to buy apple approved headphones. but whilst i may be a sucker who's waaaay to comfortable with apple and too lazy to adjust to using an android ....i will NEVAAAA buy airpods or beats.

anyway try downloading the app for your headphones brand if there is one. otherwise you may as well send your phone back unless you're willing to be mugged off by apple approved headphones.

Yes they told me same its a 3rd party issue.

if this is a 3rd party issue, why did I have no issues with my iPhone X and have bluetooth issues with my iPhone 12 pro.

Apple saying this is a 3rd party problem is bad business. This thread is long and it is a PROBLEM. Hire the right people and fix my problem Apple, its your device I dislike when it doesn't work correctly, not my 3rd party accessory.

I have the same problem. Bluetooth speaker (Sony SRS-X5) that works fine with my iPhone SE 2020 will not pair with my iPhone 12 mini. I have tried all of the generic suggestions (restart speaker, restart phone, reset network settings). The iPhone bluetooth works, it pairs with other devices. The speaker works, it pairs with other iPhones. It seems that Apple changed something about bluetooth, and it is no longer compatible with some devices. I'm afraid devilzombies911 is right, Apple will claim it's not their problem. But they changed something, and now some bluetooth devices don't work. Why not admit and fix it?

My new 12Pro wouldn’t recognize any Bluetooth devices. I took the advice of another user, charged my old iPhone 7 that was sitting dead in a drawer, and deleted every Bluetooth device from it. I turned my 12Pro off and then on again, went to Bluetooth settings, and it now recognizes my Bluetooth devices. I hope you have a simple fix like this! Good luck.

Frankly, it is purely hit and miss. If you have an older iPhone clear all bluetooth from it and try the new one. Try wiping and reloading your iPhone, then hope for the best. It is purely random when things connect, I've got an early one, things slowly started connecting. Mine STILL won't connect to one of my Macs, my blood pressure machine, but beyond that, my car, other computers, head phones (2X), ear pods, TV, Amplifier, Apple TV, BT Speaker are all working fine, it just took some time and frustration. Even Apple software engineers know it's a software issue and are complaining to the Bluetooth engineers.
