iPhone 12 Pro Max Bluetooth Issues

Hello,

I am having Bluetooth connection issues with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I could not been able to connect my iPhone to my headphones. (Denon AH-GC30). My iPhone does not see my headphones. Below what i did before asking this question.

I checked my headphones with my iPhone 7 plus - It works.

I checked my headphones with my Macbook Pro - It works.

Then i checked Bluetooth versions - both iPhone 12 Pro Max and my Headphones support version 5.

Lastly - i restarted my iPhone, updated to last version of iOS, reset network settings, but Bluetooth of my iPhone Does not see my Headphones.

What is wrong with it? Why such expensive phone, do not see my headphones, but my old iPhone does? Both have the same iOS 14.2.1.

(P.S. - could not select iPhone 12 Pro Max in device field, it does not exists here)

I had the same issue - I have a pair of over ear headphones in the app for my headphones, I had to reset the devices that my headphones were paired to. Once I cleared that list, it immediately connected my phone. In short, reset your headphone so they are like new.

I’m having the same issues but with almost all my devices.. I transferred everything from my old iPhone X to this 12 pro max and after setting up this new phone tried connecting to my work vehicle with Bluetooth and nothing. Sound system nothing. It doesn’t recognize any devices but it recognized my tv.. not sure what’s going on with Apple but this is kind of rediculous

I cannot connect my 12 Pro Max to my cars Bluetooth (hands free calling only). It’s been driving me crazy.

I also have an issue with the echo auto. The phone keeps thinking it’s a pair of headphones instead of a Bluetooth speaker and keeps turning down the volume after a certain period of time.

It’s so annoying and I’ve been back and forth with Apple support and their engineers and they basically told me to contact Amazon—even though it works fine on my XS Max and 6s+.

This is so annoying and needs to be addressed immediately. When I’m driving this is a safety hazard.

I'm having the similar issue. I upgraded from the iPhone X to the iPhone 12 Pro Max, they are both running iOS 14.2.1. I'm having issues mostly with calls and slight issues with streaming audio. When I'm on a call, I'm having a static noise in both hears and people claim to have a hard time hearing me. When I'm stream audio, the i get a loud chirp when switch between apps or when streaming stops. With both Phone call and audio streaming, the bluetooth will disconnect randomly and won't allow me to reconnect. It's almost like they are out of range. None of the issues occur when I'm using my iPhone X.

I've been reading everyone else's posts, and seems like there is a huge APPLE problem with the connectivity of the iPhone 12 (I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max). I work with other people with older iPhones, and their phones connect with no problems to the same devices that my new phone won't connect to.... it's so frustrating. I've reset the network settings, but that did not solve the problem. Has anyone found a solution?

All the paired Bluetooth settings are kept on the cloud. So as long as the old iPhone is still registered to the apple account the paired Bluetooth settings remained with the old iPhone and the devices can’t show or be paired with the new iPhone with the same name. I finally erased my old iPhone and removed from the apple account. Now all 7 separate Bluetooth devices are paired with the new iPhone. The problem with Wi-Fi calling turn on notices all stop also. Apple’s engineers should have figured out the potential problem and address it in Help. Job would agree I think.

I’m having the same issue majority of devices on Bluetooth connect but some don’t. Strange as old XR connected perfectly, it’s only the 12 that doesn’t.

one of the most helpful answers I found was to go to settings, general and reset the network setting. Didn’t work for me but has worked for others so worth a try.

guess I’m just going to have to wait until a new IOS issue solves the problem.

This is happening to mine as well. It is so frustrating and I tested my phones Bluetooth on two different devices which helped me determine that it was in fact my new phone and not the other devices. I was first experiencing the constant Bluetooth connection loss on my wireless beats and then later on my cars Bluetooth. Apple needs to fix this because this is beyond frustrating

On followup---it seems like a bluetooth audio sync problem when the iphone 12 (bluetooth turned on) syncs to an existing device that is powering up. I can get my Mercedes audio working if I toggle the bluetooth on my phone off and on for about 5 seconds once the car system is fully powered up and it will work. BUT...if I toggle on and off the car system, it still doesn't work.

To be clear when I have this problem---it looks like it is playing and all the information about the song is on the car system showing it is playing (album, song length, playing time) from the iphone...but there is no sound. Most if not all the time --the telephone audio works---so it is seems to be a problem with the Audio playback stack and not the phone audio stack.
