How to get same day diagnostic or repair service from Apple

My keyboard has started failing. Some keys just suddenly stopped working simultaneously. I use an external keyboard to cope.

I cannot go more than 1 day without the laptop. It seems reasonable to expect that with AppleCare+, I should be able to get it diagnosed in one day, and then take it in another day for repair.

Is that possible? My experience has been that they sent me to a authorized repair shop who needs to hold it for at least a week before I get it back. They would diagnose it one day, then wait for parts for some days, then repair, then call me to pick it up. But this is just not possible since I need access to the programs and data on the laptop everyday.

How do I get same day diagnostic and same day repair?

Time Machine is a good tool, except for use with Catalina/Big Sur;
where backups done from these, change all other backups file type
on the external storage. Be wary, once converted these become use-
less or try to change others less modern to their newer situation.

I have seen some rumblings on that issue. Is there an article anywhere that explains that?
