I was scrolling through tiktok at a low volume when my phone randomly made a loud cracking sound and then shut off. It almost sounded like an electrical short. Phone rebooted on its own and seems fine. Very strange for a brand new Apple iPhone 12....

It just happened to me and I guess no response yet from Apple as to the reason why this is happening.

Can’t believe this hasn’t been addressed by Apple! Just happened to me 5 minutes ago. Loud crackle sound, sort of colorful confetti type thing all over the screen and then it restarted.
Just happened to me as well on my iPhone 12. Crackling noise then shut off. I powered it back up and the wallpaper was black for a minute and now everything seems normal.
Same crap still happening now, just happened to me a couple mins ago, nearly shat myself
This JUST happened to me! On tiktok, the phone buzzed like the static on old time TVs and fuchsia boxes appeared everywhere. It restarted on its own.

Just happens to me reading an article. Phone at 100%. Brand new iPhone 12 Pro Max. Had it for like 6 days.
It just happened to me too on iPhone 12. The sound was scary and as others mentioned the phone restarted in few seconds. So weird, happening 1st time in 2 years.
