I was scrolling through tiktok at a low volume when my phone randomly made a loud cracking sound and then shut off. It almost sounded like an electrical short. Phone rebooted on its own and seems fine. Very strange for a brand new Apple iPhone 12....

It happened to me just five minutes ago, I was playing a game in the screen made a new electric shock sound and I got purple for a second. Then the phone restarted itself it’s iPhone 12 pro max not even a year old. Really ****** off right now and scared to use it
It just happened to me too on iPhone 12. The sound was scary and as others mentioned the phone restarted in few seconds. So weird, happening 1st time in 2 years.

Just had the same issue with iPhone 12. Was ordering food for lunch and the screen went crazy with scary sounds. I thought it was gonna blow. First time seeing this in 12 years of using iPhones
iPhone 12 Pro Max made crackling sound and just shut off I was watching a show on the phone wasn’t hot was 86% and I’m not sure if it’ll ever happen again hopefully not.
The same thing just happened to me for the first time since getting the phone almost two years ago while scrolling on Instagram

ugh thank god this has happened to other people! iPhone 12, scrolling on Facebook and it crackles and magenta confetti pixels everywhere. Scared the crap out of me. Had this phone for 15 months.
Mine did the same thing except it was green pixels, crackling noise then off and back on, phone was also at 42% when it happened, seems like others have had the same problem at 42%
