Loud crackling noise then iPhone 12 shut off

This happened to me not even 10 minutes ago, took phone off charge, went on Facebook reels then a loud crack type noise screen immediately went black for around 10 seconds (felt like 10 minutes because I was practically ******** myself thinking my phone had completely stopped working as I really can’t afford a new one, then it done the black screen with apple logo then came back on?phone isn’t hot or anything I’m going to the town with the Apple Store next week so I’m going to pop in and ask, I’ll edit this with an update if I can

iPhone 12 mini - Loud crackling noise and phone went black and re started itself and came back on - had lots of mine issued with this phone but never this and by the looks of things on here apple can’t be bothered to respond to the problem or even act slightly concerned.. joke!

Same as everyone else, I’m also seeking for answers as this literally just happened to me as well for the 1st time with my IPhone 12 Pro Max I’ve had for years. The crackling sound happened out of nowhere with about 30% battery, then my phone screen turned completely black. As it happened, I instantly felt electrically shocked on my hand as I was watching a YT video which really concerned me. I rapidly tossed my phone across the room after I felt the shock because I genuinely felt like it would potentially burst.

My phone made a loud crack like an electrical shock even flashed a quick bright flash then went black then rebooted, then phone said 20% remaining.

I was in a zoom meeting when it did it to me. Is it a video thing maybe?...

I just had the exact same thing happen. Is there any answer from Apple on this?

Really just happen to be about 20 minutes ago. It scared the **** out of me. I hope there’s a fix for this cause that’s weird

Same thing happened with me too. I was scrolling on Instagram, the phone made a crackling noise like an electric shock and reboot itself. It’s an iPhone 12. Scary!

This exact same thing just happened to me for my iPhone 12. Only bought it a couple of months ago. They really need respond and fix whatever it is.

Mine also made a loud crack noise and the lower half of my display went black, then the phone rebooted and seems to be working fine.

Same thing happened to me as well. I was scrolling through some memes on iFunny and the screen went completely black and I heard a loud crackling

Same here! I was listening to music and it made that weird rattling sound. Scared me half to death. But it’s working just fine now???
