I was scrolling through tiktok at a low volume when my phone randomly made a loud cracking sound and then shut off. It almost sounded like an electrical short. Phone rebooted on its own and seems fine. Very strange for a brand new Apple iPhone 12....

The same thing just happened to my 12 mini. It scared the crap out of me and I shot up in bed thinking it was going to catch fire. For those who it has happened to previously, did it ever happen again?
Just happened to me with my iPad Pro (iPadOS 16) while on a FaceTime call. Loud startling noise that sounded like the FNAF jumpscare for half a second, blue pixels, and then an immediate restart five seconds later.
I knew I couldn’t be the only one. This just happened to me on whilst I was browsing Amazon, nearly dropped my phone it made me jump 😂. Has anyone worked out of this is just a glitch or a fault? Using iphone 12

The same thing just happened to me. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Was just scrolling through FB Market place and this loud crackling/static sound happens and half the screen is a pinkish white static like an TV static but pink/purple color instead of black and white. It froze for a few seconds then the screen went Black and a few seconds later the Apple logo popped up. It seems fine but couldn’t find internet for a few minutes. What was the result of this issue. Is this something I should be worried about ?
12 mini, battery replaced in December 2022. Just happened while scrolling Instagram. Had faint electrical fire smell afterward. I could also taste the metal filling in my molars which was wild!

Just happened to my phone while playing Marvel Snap, battery at 81% and not charging or anything. TV static noise for two seconds, some weird discolored glitch artifacts near the very bottom of screen, then after a frozen screen for like six seconds it shut off.
This just happened to me. I saw green and purple colored pixels and then the phone shut off. I was playing an online game. My phone WAS hot but it has since cooled down. I didn’t get shocked or anything, but that definitely freaked me out. I’m definitely surprised Apple STILL hasn’t addressed this issue years later.
Was using Instagram. Phone crackled, screen went black except for some pinkish/red pixelated dots at the top of the screen. Phone shut down and restarted on its own. I smelled faint burning smell.

This just happened to me. So I googled it and shocked to see so many people reporting the same thing! Electrical sounding crackle and phone turned off. Just a black screen. I was just scrolling on Facebook and the phone wasn’t plugged in or hot. Quite disconcerting and hopefully a one off!
My phone randomly made a spark noise then blacked out and the apple symbol came up I was so confused so when my phone turned back on I googled it and I fount out I charged it for a long period but it was only on charge for around 6-7 hours because I was out and my phone was fully dead and I’m concerned about my phone now cuz that’s the only time it has happened from over the 2-3 years of having this phone
It happened to me on my iPad Pro while I was playing Honkai Star Rail, I keep my charger plugged in on the regular so it doesn’t die but honestly I assumed it just overheated and restarted. But I’m seeing a bunch of you with Apple devices having the same issue and I’m starting to think that maybe I should have gotten a Samsung tablet instead. Procreate APKs most likely exist.
I have an IPhone 10. I was using a game app called Wordscapes with my volume turned off on the game preferences and all the sudden there was aloud zapping electrical static sound and my screen went dark and the phone turned off. I turned it back on and it seems to be working fine. Hopefully that won’t happen again.
This just happened to me!! I was playing a game at 0 volume and not charging and it just made that crackly sound and froze my entire screen, it was like all rainbow!! It scared the crap out of me omg

Just happened to me. My phone (12) was in my pocket at about 80% battery. I picked it up and it was restarting. Has apple said anything about this? It seems it has been happening for a couple of years. Very weird and a security concern for me.
