iPhone 12 Pro Max stuck in Clearance in Progress for more than 8 days

I placed my order on November 18 through Apple.com and I got to know from UPS site, order has been shipped on November 21 with the delivery date on November 25 and then got pushed to November 30.. On November 22, status got updated to Clearance in Progress and scheduled delivery date has been removed. Today (Nov 30) when I reached out to UPS to check why customs clearance wasn't yet completed, they informed me "customs in China has not provided the authorization to export the package, this has been clear at customs in the US but we have not received the confirmation for the customs in China" and asked me to reach out to Apple to know why customs has not provided the authorization yet as others has received this phone from same shipper. Tried reaching out to Apple support team couple of time and wasn't able to talk to anyone.

I'm wondering if apple lags in sharing shipping updates to customer as well as sharing proper documentation with customs. People who ordered after Nov 19th, has received their phones 3 to 4 days. Can anyone from Apple let me know what can be done for this issue? I guess best option is to cancel my order as Apple doesn't caring helping their customers.

I have the same issue. Order iphone 12 Pro Max on Nov 19th. It was shipped on Nov 21 with scheduled delivery date of Nov 30. When tracking package it's been in "Clearance in Progress" since 11/23/20. Because I'm on the trade in program I have to return my old phone by Dec 9th. I called UPS twice. I'm told the phone in in Kentucky waiting to be picked up by carrier to continue delivery. The phone was released from customs on 11/22/20 so all the paperwork is in. UPS keeps saying they will call me to to give update on package but of course I haven't heard anything. When I call Apple -they say it's out of their hands.

My order seems stuck in 'Clearance in Progress': Brokerage released the package. It will be processed through a clearing agency before final release to UPS

Its been 2 days now, no movement. Believe it’s still stuck in CHINA, no location update in UPS tracking.

Apple website says it will arrive on 10 Dec ! There is no delivery date provided by UPS(in their website)

How much time it takes for clearance process, and reach US and het it delivered to Halethorpe, MD

Does anyone experience this before? Pls assist

My status has also changed. My phone was in "Clearance in Progress" since Nov 23. Now it says "In

Transit" Delivery delayed. When I talked to UPS early in the week I was

told my phone was in Kentucky. When I checked delivery status today it says

"as of 12/5/20 it is in ZhengZhou, China. That's where my phone was on

11/21/20. When I talked to Apple agent on Wed (Dec 2nd) she said if they sent a

new phone it would be from the US not China. So, bottom line I don't know if

this phone in China is a new phone being sent, or if it's the origional phone and was

never was in Kentucky, or the current UPS status is not correct??????????

Neither Apple or UPS support take calls on weekends so I guess I'll set where

the status is on Monday.

I ordered mine on 11/15 and it just cleared customs in Anchorage and that was on 12/5. It sat there for a couple days. I haven’t gotten any updates since, Apple states it will be here on 12/8, and UPS had originally given me a delivery date of 12/3 and then changed it more information will come. So I don’t know what to believe but to anyone that’s ordered after that I wouldn’t expect to get it as quick as you think.

since I am yet to get mine, ordered on 11/15 and didn’t ship until 12/1! I’m with all of you, I just want my new toy dang it!! Spoiled Americans we are

I just got off the phone with UPS again and they said that the phone was still in China! I'm surprised since last I spoke with them they told me that the phone was on the plan over to the US. This is not consistent information. They also said that this is "normal for Apple shipments" which is a peculiar thing to say, which leads me to believe that this has to do with the manner in which documents are being dealt with on Apple's side of things. I have ordered many products from apples website and I have never had any issues until now.

I purchased 2 Pacific Blue Pros from my carrier on November 12th and have been given even less info then you all. I am assuming I am still going to have to go through some form of processing from my carrier before they ship to me. Does anyone k ow how the carriers do this? Do they drop ship from Apple, or do they have to receive shipment and process for delivery from their warehouses? I’m so upset, my wife’s birthday is coming up on Tuesday and I won’t have the gift she really wanted! I’ll guess I’ll give her the MagSafe Case and wallet I was able to find for her. On a side I have been waiting for a Solo Loop Band for my iWatch 6 for about 40 days now. SMH!!!

Iphone Pro Max ordered Nov 19, shipped Nov 21. From Nov

23 until Dec 5th UPS tracking was stuck in "Clearance in Progress"

Filed a claim with Apple Dec 2nd. As of Dec 5th UPS trackings says "In

Transit" but it says it's in ZhengZhou, China (same place it was on Nov

21st). Just go off phone with UPS International. Here is time line:

Nov 21st shipped

Nov 23 to Dec 5th Held in Customs because of missing

documentation from Apple.

Nov 5th Arrived at sorting facility in China

Nov 6th left China for US

He said it should be delived to me in 1-2 business.

UPS has no record of claim or investigation initiated

from Apple.

I'll let you know if I receive the phone in the next few

days.

Looks like I am not alone. Apple need to make sure to contact clearing agency to find out why it is taking so long. Plus keep their customers informed on each customers orders. I also purchased a iphone 12 max pro. On November 25th. My phone has been stuck in the stupid clearing center. With no progress. If I do not see any progress by end of day today. I will contact apple and cancel my order or tell them I will refuse the order. Then request a full refund. Never in my life have I ever had a problem like this with customs. Even when I bought from Samsung. Samsung kept me well informed about my order. We all spend our hard earned money on a product that we do not have yet. We should only get charged for our phone after customs clears it. Then watch how fast it clears customs.

I literally just got off the phone with them and they told me that mine has been released from customs but my status hasn’t changed either so maybe it’s normal? My tracking looks exactly like yours. UPS told me it may not update but don’t worry it’s still on the way it’ll take 2-3 days so you might get yours on the 9th or 10th like mine. If they said it’s released but tracking still hasn’t changed don’t worry it’ll update probably later tonight or tomorrow for sure just keep checking they said. 👌🏽

Hey.. just called them. There is some issue in their system. They told that ‘ it’s the delivery time to the immediate next node’.

While I asked if the next node is the final delivery, they have no idea.

Believe the time showing Dec 7 9PM may be the time it will reach US homeland.. or May be we will receive it at door bell!! Fingers crossed 🤞.
