Event viewer not working in FCP

The event viewer has stopped working suddenly. Now the viewer will only play the timeline in the project video, but will not let me play any of the clips in the event library. I never had this before.

I cant seem to find any setting I have changed, but this is a possibility.

I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and still have the same issue.

Any suggestions would be very welcome. I have been using FCPX for years and never had any problems. Right now it is very difficult to work, since I have no way to view event clips other than drop them into the timeline to view.

Thanks

Try deleting preferences.

To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences.

The application will start in a default state, and open an "Untitled" library. Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.

I have 38GB free... Which has been pretty normal for me for the last 10 years and its never been a problem before. I know its probably not the best, but I doubt it is the reason for this viewer not working issue.

Regarding the disabled security. Its not something I did intentionally. How do I re-enable it?

Similar with the adware. I guess i can delete it.

Other than that is there anything in there that could help with this specific issue??
