Outlook for Mac draft disappearing

Outlook for Mac 2016 version 16.43 : Issue with drafting reply to emails, specifically from within preview pane of Outlook, where what I have typed will disappear when I click on a different email before I save or send. When I then click back to the email I am replying to, what I have typed is gone without a trace and no draft is present.

Is this a bug or a limitation of how drafting within the Preview Pane functions?

Hello Pencil_Sharepener,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

We understand from your post that your emails are not autosaving in Outlook for Mac 2016. Check to see if you have the settings set to automatically save your emails. Open Outlook and click on the File menu then Options. Click Mail, then check the box in front of "Automatically save items that have not been sent after this many minutes:" and adjust the amount of time to your preference.

If this feature is enabled and your emails still are not autosaving, you may want to contact Microsoft support for additional assistance.
