I try to connect the m1 Macbook air to my Apple TV 4K but didn’t work, and backed to login screen.
I tried to reset Mac and restart Apple TV, as well as safe mode, still not working. I can connect my MacBook Pro and iPhone to Apple TV normally, so it’s Macbook M1’s problem.
MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.0
My M1 MBA can connect via HDMI to my 2020 Sony Bravia TV but I get a black screen with AirPlay.
Thats bad.. from hdmi it should be good for god sake. I know airplay is native but hdmi should work fine
Interesting. I will need to explore AirPlay again. Perhaps there is a common element.
I"m having this exact same issue.
try giving macbook name with strict english. like "macbook" or "air" or "laptop" or "eve" or " adam" and try and let me know.
does it mean its working?
I also have the same problem on a Sony TV.
My ipad Pro and iphone work perfectly but my new macbook pro M1 does not!.
Hope apple comes up with a quick fix!
In your setting relax your firewall settings. Uncheck "Automatically allow build-ing software to receive incoming connections"
Good news. Sony put out a firmware update yesterday that fixed the issue for my 2020 X900H.
My guess is that Apple worked with them.
Thanks to those of you who took time to offer suggestions.
i can also confirm that Sony’s firmware update to my HX8096 TV solved the screen mirroring problem. :-)
