iPhone 11 won’t send picture texts to android users

All of the sudden, today, I could not take a pic within a text message of a contact who has an Android phone. I chose other contacts that had both iPhones and Androids, and all the Androids failed to open up the camera app. So I read tons of blogs that occurred from 2014 to 2018 and the one that I tried was turning off MMS messaging, in settings/messages, and then I turned it back on and it worked. I didn’t do any software updates, or any other changes to my phone, today, so I’m not sure what caused this to occur. Many of Apple’s replies suggested contacting your carrier. Thankfully I didn’t go that far.
