Omg mines did too thank god my AppleCare maxed out all the charges and extra fees that would’ve been required without AppleCare. I recently just sent in my iPhone 12 Pro Max to a apple repair center last week cause my back camera lenses cracked on me which caused my front camera to be unresponsive. So hopefully if I’m lucky enough they can probably replace the entire phone for me free at no charge cause this is is brand new phone I got it a few months ago from Verizon they sent it free but the thing is that if my phone is new how come the camera got broken the first few weeks of having it. I hope they can give me a fresh one I already updated my iCloud so I won’t lose all my data and information.

I’ve had a few iPhones and never a smashed camera lense. I’m an artist and take lots of photos, so I need the çamera. I had to replace my recent iPhone8, of 2 years, because the camera lense literally smashed! I don’t remember doing anything such as ‘commando rock climbing’ with it to cause such damage. Apple basically said too bad and I bought a new iphone12 mini $$$. I refused to spend extra $ on top of that for protection! The lenses are supposed to be super tuff, which there not and in this world of QR coding, our phones are constantly in and out of pockets and bags, so more likely to be dropped.

So I’ve placed a protective cover on the back, the same as the ones you place on the screens. I know this is a bit rudimentary but it works so far. Also the protective screen doesn’t stick to the camera lense because of the case that the phone sits in. Basically you’ll be taking a photo through a clean window. Good luck!

You don't remember doing anything, but obviously you did.

It could have been something as simple as accidentally setting your phone down on its back harder than you remember.

If you don't want to pay for AppleCare+, that's fine; you don't have to have collision coverage auto insurance either, but in both cases if damage occurs you will have to pay for it out of pocket.

Apple couldn't process me for some reason so I was forced to purchase phone through T-Mobile and then no Apple Care!!! T -Mobile "protection plan" is a farce and now I'm stuck with no camera. Going with a Sony Experia next phone! Why no providers handle Sony is beyond me. The consumer is stuck with no decent choices to speak of. A $1299 phone whose lense shatters from a fall from my leg on ground to the ground is not acceptable.
