Playcount not updating on iPod touch

when I sync my iPod touch w/ iTunes the playcount does not change or even register.

Play counts in iTunes not updating after syncing iPhone I'm running the latest version of iTunes on my PC under Windows 10 and the latest version of iOS on my iPhone SE (2nd generation). If I play a song from iTunes it updates "Last Played" and "Played" correctly. However if I play the same songs from my iPhone, it no loner updates these fields when I sync to iTunes. When I searched the community, I noticed this is a recurring problem from years back though it mostly involved syncing with iMacs. I believe iTunes is now only a Windows App and I am not subscribing to Apple Music or iTunes Match (though I briefly tried and cancelled both to solve a different problem). Any ideas?

Ipod nano not properly syncing with Mohave Since upgrading to Mohave, my iPod nano is wonky when it syncs to iTunes. iTunes recognizes the nano but the play counts and playlists from the nano no longer update. Some playlists update but incompletely. (The first song in a playlist never updates as played when I know I listened to it. The playlist of top-rated songs shows a random selection of music, and when I sync, the false playlist shows songs as recently played when I know I didn't. I'm probably the last person still using a nano at the gym so maybe Apple is no longer giving it much attention. Any help?

iPod iTunes sync issue I know there are issues with the whole playlist art not syncing, well maybe I'm the only one but now if the iPod and iTunes are connected and I make changes to a playlist and disconnect some of the changes are not transfered to the iPod. I wish I could go back a year to where i didn't have any of these issues before updates.

Hello GlenskiHB,

It sounds like your iTunes play count for songs aren't updating when your sync your iPod with it.

The first step you can try is to make sure that you are using the most updated version of iTunes. You can follow this link to see how:

I am using the most updated version of everything and this is still happening for me. Play Counts do not update when syncing iPhones and iPods with the Mac. This problem is all over the internet. It's messing up how I listen to my music and makes me regret updating.
