The cursor in the notes section of contacts keeps disappearing while typing

The cursor regularly disappears while I type in Contacts. I can't finish a note so I've taken to typing the note in a Microsoft Word document, and then pasting it into my Apple Contacts.

Yeah. Really. There's got to be a better way?

Contacts—entries disappear before saving & jumps to other cards. Adding contacts in a relaxed manner has become impossible. After opening a new contact form and entering one name, the program jumps to an existing contact with that name in it, or it just disappears. I've had to develop a workaround. It works quite well, but is annoying: I put all the data in the Notes App. Then I copy one datum and paste it in the right category. Then I immediately save the file. I put in the most unusual item first because I often have to search for it because the file has disappeared. I do the same for each datum until, after a few entries the whole file stops disappearing. The key seems to be saving quickly, which isn't easy while typing with two fingers.

Mac stopped added contacts (I use a Google Contacts account) I've noticed quite some time that contacts both on my Mac and iPhone is flakey. I use a Google Contacts account not iCloud. On my Mac For quite some time, I have noticed that I would have to enter a contact multiple times before it would record it. Lately, it won't add it at all. I enter all the contact information and it briefly shows the new contact on the left listing and then it disappears. On my iPhone, for years I've noticed that adding notes in Contacts is flaky. I'd add a note to a contact, close the edit and the note disappears. I've gotten into the habit of copying the note before I close so that I can re enter it when it disappears. Eventually it captures it. I see this is happening to others. Come on Apple. Very frustrating.

Text in Contacts Notes field is lost after typing (MacOS Mojave 10.14.6) Text typed into the Notes field of a Contacts card disappears when I click away—as in gone, not just "can't see it in the window." I'm not syncing with anything (iCloud is off, no gmail sync), and I've tried the "fixes" that others have posted (e.g. removing login items). This has started just since the Mojave upgrade from High Sierra (yesterday).
