How to disable small arrow next to selected text in Safari on Mac

Hey,

is there a way to avoid the little arrow that reloads the page when I select text in Safari?

It drives me crazy that if I type a long text on a form and before submitting it I select it to copy to a clipboard so that if there is a problem submitting the form the written text will not be lost. But next to the selected text, an arrow appears, which if I accidentally click on it, the page will reload and exactly what I feared will happen, the written text will be lost.

I don't know if you understand my problem. I would like this little arrow not to appear next to the selected text in Safari, which reloads the webpage. I’ll try to attach a picture of this arrow to see if anyone knows it.

I've experienced the same issue for the past several months and, like the rest of you, find it incredibly annoying. Troubleshooting so far:

  • Disabled all Safari extensions, restarted - no success.
  • Used the inspector to see if there are any errors popping up when this context menu is clicked. No errors that I can see.
  • All the usual steps: clear cache, restart machine, etc. No progress, I'm afraid!

I'm still on Catalina but it looks like you're getting this on Big Sur as well.
